| Song lyrics |
Hit ‘em wid a little ghetto gospel
[Chorus]
Those who wish to follow me (my ghetto gospel)
I welcome with my hands
And the red sun sinks at last
Into the hills of gold
And peace to this young warrior
Without the sound of guns
If I could recollect before my hood days
I’d sit and reminisce thinking of bliss on the good days
I stop and stare at the younger, my heart goes to'em
They tested with stress that they under.
And nowadays things change
Everyone’s ashamed of the youth ‘cus the truth looked strange
And for me its reversed we left em a world that’s cursed and it hurts
Cause any day they’ll push the button.
And all commend like Malcolm x and Bobby Hutton
Died for nothin’.
Gunna make u get teary the world looks dreary
When you wipe your eyes see it clearly.
There’s no need for you to fear me.
If you take the time to hear me
Maybe you can learn to cheer me.
It aint about black or white, cus we're human
I hope we see the light before it’s ruined
My ghetto gospel
[Chorus]
Tell me do you see that old lady aint it sad?
Living out a bag, but shes glad for the little things she has
Over there there's a lady, crack got her crazy.
Guess who’s giving birth to a baby?
I don’t trip and let it fade me
From out of the frying pan we jump into another form of slavery
Even now I get discouraged
Wonder if they take it all back will i still keep the courage.
I refuse to be a role model.
If said go take control drink out my own bottles.
I make mistakes, i learn from everyone.
And when it’s said and done, i'll bet there's bound to be a better one.
if I upset you don’t stress
Never forget, that God isn’t finished with me yet.
I feel his hands on my brain.
When I write rhymes, I go blind, and let the Lord do his thing.
but am I less holy,
Cus I choose to puff a blunt and drink a beer with my homies
Before we find world peace, we gotta find peace
And in the war in the streets
My Ghetto Gospel.
[Chorus]
[2Pac]
Lord can you hear me speak?
I paid the price of being hellbound

Elton John was one of Pac's favourite artists... who would have thought that. Just goes to show how far out Pac's appreciation for music was. Ghetto Gospel is the bomb.
Can't have nothing but respect for him.

i gotta admit that this is a really good song , but is it just me or does that really sound like Pac? i dont know, but that doesn't even sound like Elton John, either its a really old song, or its just something they've done something to thier voices | 01-03-2005 21:58 CityintheRain4 | 1 posts

| Has anyone got the actual whole song. I've like downloaded this song 20 odd times now, and I still get the shortened version, that does not have the last two verses.
I'd appreciate it if I get hold of it from someone here.
Thanks

yo who read in XXL they put the 2pac/elton john collabo in the worst 5 of the year? i thought it was cool.
My Gospel:
I see no changes all I see is racist faces
misplaced hate makes disgrace to races
They say the ghetto instrumental Detrimental to kids
As if they can't see the misery In which they live
We probably in Hell already, our dumb asses not knowin
Everybody kissin ass to go to heaven ain't goin
It's time to fight back that's what Tupac said
6 shots in the dark now Tupacs dead
Shot him to death and left him bleeding for his family to see
I pass his casket, gently asking, is there heaven for G's?
Hoping they bury him with ammunitions, weed, and shells
Just in case they trip in heaven, ain't no G's in hell
Somebody help me, tell me where to go from here
Cause even Thugs cry, but do the Lord care?
It's a small thing through and true
What could I do? Real homies help you get through
And Tupac knew he'd do the same thang if he could
Cause in the hood true homies make you feel good
Should we cry when the Pope die? My request,
We should cry if they cried when 6 went in Tupacs chest.
haha
RIP
