This album is a great release by Linkin Park. The long awaited and anticipated album which was in development for 5 years has finally graced store shelves. To much worry of hardcore fans of the band when the news of a "new sound" was to be part of LP, let one of those fans say there is nothing to fear. There is definately a ton of different sounds and influences introduced in this album but its a welcome change since its been executed so successfully. There is still your hardcore songs like "Given Up" and up beat, almost Christian-tempo like (not lyric wise is any way) with "Bleed It Out". Linkin Park's dedication to perfection is purely shown and is greatly appreciated. If you're a fan of Linkin Park then this is a no brainer for you, go out and buy. If you're someone looking to get into alternative rock/rock in general, this is a good album to start with; its a little softer, beat wise, then their past album "Meteora" but the lyric wise, probably one of their best. "Minutes to Midnight" was worth wait. | 17-05-2007 00:05 11nicole26 | 1 posts
| i was so excited for this cd and when i listened to it i was pretty disappointed. I love linkin park but this cd is a lot different from thier 2 other cd's. I love them for their unique rap-rock/hardcore style and its sad almost thier whole cd is soft songs. My favorites are Given Up, Bleed It Out, and No More Sorrow probably because they are the closest to their old style. I think most of the change has to do with the proder rick ruben. Hopefully they will make another album soon and not use rick and go back to style they created and perfected. I hope this album will grow on me because i hate saying i dont really like it. | 17-05-2007 11:35 iuli98 | 5 posts

this is a good album; i am glad that they worked really hard and did not do a simple copy of their previos songs; it is truely something new and with personality by linkin park ; though i expected something more agressive i must say that i like over half of the songs; | 20-05-2007 17:45 jkl80120 | 3 posts

This CD although may not be exactly like there other albums is still amazing. Linkin Park has evolved, grown up, so of course there music may not be the same. There music is very well arranged on this cd. The composition the substance and vocals are great. Chester and Mike's lyrics are just as deep as their other albums. My only complaint would be that Mike and Chester did not do many songs together vocally which was my favorite thing about them. This CD still is one of my favorites and I would recommend it. | 20-05-2007 21:33 drumandrun | 2 posts

They tried something new and exceeded very well. When I heard "What I've done", I knew immediatly that some fans would be upset with the change of sound. I have the album, and I miss the old sound. After a while though, this grabs on to you and stays in your head. It's great that the lyrics have more of a meaning to them rather than pain and suffering as well. Great album! | 21-05-2007 18:36 Teresa20 | 13 posts

I bought "minutes to midnight" and I have to say... It was a huge letdown. "Given up" and "No more sorrow" were really good. "What I've done" and "bleed it out" were mediocre, and the rest really sucked. Only some d*mn ballads! I thought LP were a hard rock band? I can admit I like "my december" but I can't accept that EIGHT of twelve songs were boring tedious ballads. Two thirds! Really dissapointing. They should go back to their old louder selves. | 24-05-2007 13:35 ISeePurpleMnkys | 2 posts

I thought the new album was really great. I was able to connect with a lot of the songs. Did anyone else notice though that the tracklist on the back of the case is WAY off? lol | 25-05-2007 01:55 Gipper | 22 posts

This isn't Hybrid Theory by any stretch of the imagination, but it's certainly amazing music all the same. The tracks are thoughtful, varied, and good to listen to. All in all, this is a great CD. | 31-05-2007 01:18 sk8er468 | 8 posts

I have not purchased this album, but I have to say that after the whole stunt with JZ, all respect was lost. This album is much better than that, but it is still not impressive. It really isnt anything too special. I hear only average songs all around, with nothing amazing. At this time, I see no need to get this cd. All I have to say is that this album is good, but HIGHLY overrated. | 09-06-2007 19:25 gricks | 35 posts

LP'S new album is awsome! Like most people i missed their old sound but, if you have the dvd and watched the making of the album, what they said makes sense. If they made another album like their old ones, it would be too repetitive. There new sound is great and they have matured more. Really almost all their songs have some kind of message, some more obvious than others. Overall, i like all the songs except for in between which is just repeating lyrics over and over again The rest of the songs are good and worth listening to | 21-06-2007 04:18 Jubbs3 | 6 posts

Everything about this album is great. Their new tyle brings out the creativeness of all of the members. Every song has potential to be a great song. Although the change in their style makes them a little different, I think this change has made them better. I believe that all of the LP records are great and this one definitely doesn't fall short of expectations. If you have the money, buy it. I bought it like the second day it was out.
I'm more of a rap/hip-hop fan but Linkin Park is so great that most of the time, I'd rather listen to their music, than my favorite genre of music. They are that good. | 25-06-2007 08:40 TMT6 | 57 posts

Minutes To Midnight is an album different that the others. Linkin Park has really changed their style.... But still, this is one great album with my favorite track, Shadow Of The Day. | 26-06-2007 02:28 Ultimate_Snake | 15 posts

I liked linkin park and all their music so much that it was all I'd listen to.
But then, I think Linkin park is losing a bit of its touch while Mike Shinoda was out with Fort Minor. Though, I really like Bleed It Out, What I've Done, and No More Sorrow the best. Maybe Linkin park is not doing as well, or something, as before, but that doesn't mean their real bad. They're still my favorite band of all.. | 09-07-2007 23:58 MacDaddyX12 | 24 posts

the more I listen to it the more I love it. it may not be their best album for the lack of their typical sound but still love it. the ballads are very good - soft, meaningful and there are couple of songs with more beat and so, and that makes it really good. as soon as I bought it I put the songs on my iPod in a folder with their old songs and when I get to them it is like a fresh air (not that I mind being without air if it sounds li Crawling or I the end), it is just different and it is till good.

This album was AMAzing. I thought LP was good before, but now I feel they are just the best. I have never seen anyone come out with a completely different sound and continue to have so many supporters, these guys really have talent. The album is so rich in meaning and purpose, its like every song has some sort of inspiration and its really personable. I happen to love Shadow of the day, In Pieces, and The Little Things Give You Away. Great Album, Great Sound, and Great Meaning. | 19-07-2007 02:50 510dz | 10 posts

i love the album and how they have a new style but still kept songs that would make original fans happy. personally i have no problem with the album but you could definitely see why some people do. they like the old style and for the most part thats not what this is, but its great and i love it. | 26-07-2007 06:26 Oinkpiggy | 337 posts

Linkin Park was the band that got me into listening to music at all and will always be on my favorites. After Meteora I really wanted them to bring out a new album, but sadly, with this i'd rather them not to do so. I think the best song is 'no more sorrow' it starts pretty good, but then the song goes plain and a bit boring. It is not the linkin park i loved anymore. Most of the songs are plain adn repetitive and i'll even say they lack some instrumentation. *sigh* |
