I've never known what it is about this song that makes me love it. Maybe it's the simplicity of the song, it's lulling quality which reminds me of the lazy summer days that this young man must have enjoyed. Being of a farming family I know just how important it is to tend your crops but something about the tale makes me think that there's something else behind this. He didn't ignore his duties because of laziness, it was something else as well. Perhaps one day I'll know why.
