This is quite a good song! The problem with Alkaline Trio is that they can begin to sound a bit samey after a while, but songs like this and Exploding Boy break it up nicely | 0 @ 01-12-2004 17:32 traesee | 3 posts

Anyone figure out what the guy talking into the recording machine is saying?
ill give it a try:
Walk in the shadows of feelings,
Always darker,emptier, and simpler.
I don't care if these pains are real,
I just thank them for showing up at all.
During the black period, put it on.
Just not on me.
They are not a part of illness,
but a part of my being.
Some might say I have the courage to have one.
So, the bottom line:
This sucks
( I tried my best lol)

Great song. Can't say anything bad about it.
The bit at the beginning supposedly says:
"Thoughts are the shadows of feelings. Always darker, emptier and simpler. I don't care if they're fake or real, i just thank them for being there at all. I have black periods, who does not? But they do not have me. They are not part of illness, but a part of my being. What am i saying? I have the courage to have them. It's 4 o'clock in the morning...this sucks."

As close as I got but I'm sure about the last couple of lines. |
