Amy Diamond first finalist Melodienfestivalen

 The excitement in the air was palpable at the Scandinavium arena in Gothenburg Saturday night at Melodifestivalen's first semifinal.
It was this years competition's youngest and oldest artists who won: Christer Sjögren and Amy Diamond were the happy victors of the night. The two winners are now slated to go to the finals at the Globe Arena on March 15 to battle it out for the trip to Belgrade for the ESC Finals.
E-Type and the Poodles as well as Suzzie Tapper will go on to the Second Chance competition, to be held on March 8th in Kiruna, a town in the very north of Sweden.
Facts about the First Semifinal:
Total received televotes: 600 804 (total of telephone votes plus SMS votes). Amount donated to Radiohjälpen charity: 1 383 435 crowns.
