i come not to hate on Tom DeLonge, but to praise him.
okay, so i heard a lot of mixed things on Tom DeLonge's new album [well, it's not really "new" because it came out a year and a few months ago...so...whatever]. some people like it, some people hate it, some people love it [LIKE ME!!], some people think the intros are "wayy too long," and some people think +44 can eat AVA's ass up. well, wherever you happen to stand, that's your opinion and your tastes in music. i'm sick of hearing things like "ohmigossssh AVA suuuucks" or whatever because of the long intros and Tom's new sound in music and his lyrics. i mean, yea, we all noticed the difference between Blink182's sound and AVA's sound. i personally think that +44's sound is definitely more similar to Blinks's sound, but deeper and more mellow. but, guys, Tom's changed. he's grown up. from Blink's DAMMIT to his THE ADVENTURE?? you can tell that there's been a lot of growing up. i mean, honestly, give the CD or at least like one or two of the songs in the album a chance. if you really listen to the lyrics, you'll most likely/probably/maybe/possibly realize that Tom's songs are AMAZING. deep, very personal, and mature. THE ADVENTURE's music video brings tears to my eyes whenever i watch it because of the song's level of maturity and meaning. the whole Tom-walk thing and the video make me smile and laugh a bit, but the lyrics....
to hate the album just because you happen to be shallow when it comes to deep lyrics or longass intros is really dumb.
but then again, that's my opinion. so. do what you want. say what you want. just don't hate on a band for your impatience for the vocals to start or because you'd rather listen to a song with lyrics that aren't as deep but "more fun" or with cooler music-instrument-wise.
whatever you choose, go right ahead.
