It's AvA because tom's daughter is named Ava.
It is AAA with the A upside down. It resembles his daughters name.
Good Song. Maybe the line "You're best friend is not your girlfriend" could have been excluded for something else. |

it never really crossed my mind about the line "your best friend is not your girlfriend" i guess i always figured that thats what the song was about that he was in love with his best friend (maybe her name was sherrie) and he could never go out with her and he was saying that it hurts. idk thats just a guess. i kinda suck at figuring out what lyrics mean.
but anyway i love this song!! maybe since they made that video on their website about it it will be their next single! that would be awesome!  |

I love this song and the whole CD. Howver, like a lot of other people here, I don't get the "Your best friend is not your girlfriend" line. So I figured out a scenario that gets it to make sense. Probably not what AVA intended but here goes:
The lyrics are sung by TWO guys who are friends. Sherrie hits on the first guy, and even though he knows she can't be trusted ('just a little bullshit I saw through'), with alcohol and passion as motivation, he accepts her advances ('I'm waiting for excuses that deceive, I'll met you in the back to see them through).
The two guys sing the chorus together, in recognition of flawed, but understandable decisions: "How did I let her inside?" They answer their own question: "We're drippin' of sweat, I'm feelin' all right."
So Sherrie and the first singer sleep together and it ends badly, as he knew it would. Maybe she badmouths him the next day or tells someone he doesn't want to know. His friend sings the second verse to him: "Are you out of your mind, hooking up with that girl? Don't act so suprised in the morning when word gets out!" But again, it's an understandable and very common mistake.
So the ending is by both of them. "It hurts, it hurts," the first one admits, and his buddy sings, "Your best friend is not your girlfriend" - "It's me, and I understand and don't blame you."
Anyway, that's how I like to think of it..

I bloody love this song tho it makes me feel a lil depressed as it makes me think of the time that my boyfriend who im so in love with, kissed sum1 else. The lyrics "her lips were the last thing touched tonight, your best friend is not your girlfriend" really suit that situation. Still its a great song ! x |

i think the line "your best friend is not your girlfriend" is a good line.
the way i look at it is, your best friend will never leave you. your girlfriend can.
i also agree with Cynic on his/her analysis of the song. |

this song get's me down but i love it...it's a kickass song, it's been on my ipod since day one and most likely will stay |

Have to admit i thought it was blink 182.
"your best friend is not your girlfriend" i took this to mean that his girlfriend is NO LONGER his best friend. i thouht it was about breaking up but hey i dunno. |
