| Garou (real name Pierre Garand) was born on June 26, 1972 in Sherbrooke, Canada. At 3, thanks to his father, he started playing guitar, & later piano & trumpet. In his late teens, he was the guitarist of a band in high school & played trumpet during his military service. In 1992, Garou started playing music in bars & in 1995, he founded his band The Untouchables. In 1997, during a concert of the band, Luc Plamondon was impressed by the singer.
