| Olivia Ruiz (real name Olivia Blanc) was born on January 1, 1980 in Marseillette, France. She grew up in Carcassonne. Daughter of singer Didier Blanc, she took dancing lessons & was the singer of a rock band she founded with her friends. The band got success but Olivia really wanted to be a singer. She joined her father on stage to sing classical French songs. In 2001, she joined the casting for Star Academy first season.
