 Kery James (real name Alix Mathurin) was born on December 28, 1977 in Guadeloupe. From Haïti, his family moved to Paris' suburbs when he was 7, he grew up in a difficult way & turned to rap. Whereas Kery was only 15, he recorded his first single with the band Ideal J, with explicit lyrics. Sometime later, the band released their first album O'riginal MC, with lyrics written by Kery himself. Kery went solo & became a Muslim.
