 Claude Nougaro was born on September 9, 1929 in Toulouse, France. His father was a baritone opera singer & his mother was a pianist. Claude listened to jazz, Charles Trenet & Édith Piaf. He started as a journalist, then wrote songs for Philippe Clay & Marcel Amont. Then he sang his own songs, his first hit was "Je Suis Sous" in 1963.
