 Calogero Maurici was born on July 30, 1971 in Grenoble, France. He grew up in Echirolles, near Grenoble. At 6, his older brother Gioacchino taught him to play flute, piano and guitar. At 15, the two brothers founded a band with their friend Francis Maggiulli, named Les Charts. Francis played keyboards, Charly (Calogero) played bass and was the lead singer and Jacky (Gioacchino) played guitar.
