13 posts	Well I am not sure if these are truly autobiographical lyrics or not, but being the younger sister of Jessica Simpson, there is no doubt they very well could be. If you have seen Driven with Jessica hearing the story makes you wonder if her parents realized they had another kid... and with all the fame Jessica has attained, it must be hard. Anyway, i have the summer off and have been watching more TV than ever, and I have suddenly become addicted to the Ashlee Simpson show on MTV. She seems like such a cool kid and Pieces of Me is a catchy little tune. I went to her website and heard a clip of this song, then had to come here to see the lyrics. Hey we all have our dysfunctional childhoods, making our best effort to get over them is the important part.

And i especially love this song because its a way of showing ppl how she has stepped out of her sisters shadow. and i love how honest she is about her heartbreaks and her songs all have messages.

13 posts	Well she just said on MSN chat that her sister cried when she heard this song saying it is "the most beautiful song ever". And Ashlee caught Jess singing it in her dressing room the other day. I don't think she is dissing her sister. We all have obstacles to overcome and Ashlee just the opportunity to share her musical expressions with the world.

9 posts	I LOVE THIS SONG....shes totally not dissing jess shes just talking about how it was growing up behind her....and what she meant about the "i was six years old when my parents went away" in my opinon is that when she was six that her parents started paying more attention to jess...but this song is totally about getting over that and realsing yea it was tough but jessica deserved all she got...hope it clears it up for some of you

I love her and all but I don't wanna be exactly like her. So thats why I really like this song. I can't wait to buy the C.D. because then I will prolly listen to that song all the time.
