2 posts	rhythm melody instruments lyrics vocal The new CD is fantastic, the singing is different, no screaming. he popped blood vessels in his throat, and had some kind of surgery to help him recover, he also took singing lessons from Axyl Roses singing coach! wow, i find that crazy cool hehe, maybe its just my imagination but, i swear i can hear some GNR in them now heh. anyways definately pick this CD up, its fantastic. (remember to listen in the last 10-20seconds of each song, theres tons of solos i didnt even know about until i really started paying attention) A7X FOR LIFE!!!!

4,764 posts	^ the song meaning falls on a much deeper level than just "I dont give a damn, I'm going to hell". Truly, A7X isnt a religious band. They tend to take a very satirical look on the bible and religions and its effect on the world in general. But that doesnt make them "anti-christs". Hell, Im a Catholic and I hate to see the negative effect of religions on the world and I share similiar veiws of some things Ive interpretted from music, does that make me "antichirst", no. As I said before the song falls on a deeper level(imo). I see the story from the Bible used as an illusion to today's society. The City representing the devaluation of mankind values and humanity as a whole and its general acception amoung the people. The whole album came across as political to me, and this a grand opening for it.

"this shining city built of gold, a far cry from innocence... a city of evil" heres how i interpret it, City of gold, from Revelations, is heaven. heaven, a far cry from innocence? by definition if you are in heaven you're innocent, you're dept has been totally paid for. city of evil, i think not. call it antichrist, call it blasphemy or hypocrisy, i dont care. in my opinion this band has a serious grudge with christianity. doesn't mean i wont listen to them though, cuz they ROCK!

1 posts	rhythm melody instruments lyrics vocal I don't quite think that this song is inspired by chapter 12, but instead by the harlot that is supposed to be caught up WITH the beast, not AGAINST him... the woman in question with Revelation chap. 12 is the woman that is NOT the dwelling place for demons... Also, the song completely follows with BABYLON, the city that had fallen and is supposed to rise again, and that is supposed to be a golden city... the capital that will draw kings and captains and navigators, too... it's not to say that A7X doesn't have issues with religion, but they're not straying from the passages... the city of gold is Babylon, they even say it in the lyrics; the harlot is an actual being in the Bible... Check Revelations 17, especially verses 2, 5, 12, and 16 through 18... especially 2 and 18, which will definitely sound familiar...
