Ayo signed to Mercury & Motown

Ayo Ayo leaves Polydor to join 2 other labels from Universal, Mercury & Motown, for her next album that the artist described as schizophreny. Time to get back on track after the half-success of Billie-Eve, with 30,000 copies sold in France.

In March, Ayo released her third album Billie-Eve, not as successful as her 2 albums Joyful & Gravity At Last. However, the artist put herself into question for lyrics & music. Billie-Eve came out after 3 years of quest, as she said in an interview : "All I've lived during the last 3 years was intense. The only way to face difficult things, when I had my first child, was believing. It would be the path to follow if I wanted to continue. To get pregnant again, I should believe again & again. When my daughter was born, my life completely changed. It was a renewal for me & also the birth of my new album. In fact, my renewal is Billie-Eve !" she said.

The album's promotion ended with a cover of The Jackson 5's "I Want You Back". The singer left Universal/Polydor but stays on the major Universal, to continue on Mercury France/Universal & Motown/Universal. She said to "Le Parisien" that she loved the team that worked on her first album, like Jean-Philippe Allard. Signing with Mercury & Motown, she found back Romain Bilharz, who promoted her first album. A new album should come out in 2012. She said : "I invented myself a double, an alter ego. I'd like to call her Black Mamba, a more committed artist with rap". To be continued...
