Idol' runner-up gives hand to local family

 "American Idol" runner-up Bo Bice is taking time out from making music to help a local family with their home.
"American Idol" 2005 runner-up Bo Bice will help out an East Tennessee family in need on Tuesday.
The Southern rocker, along with 30 other volunteers, will provide elbow grease on the Simpson family's home in Caryville, Tenn. Three of the four-member family have serious heart problems. The family's home is in need of some touch-ups and renovations.
Special Spaces, an East Tennessee organization that helps renovate and redecorate the rooms of ailing children, asked for Bice's assistance in the project. In the past, the organization has gotten Little Big Town to help out with a room makeover.
Brother and sister William and Jonnie Simpson, ages 13 and 17, will be the recipients of the good deed. Their mother is also dealing with a bad heart and will undergo surgery soon.
Bice will arrive in KnoxVegas on Monday, but will be busy on Tuesday, when he'll do radio and TV interviews in between doing the home work.
"He's going to be sewing and painting and woodworking," says Jennifer Sewell of Special Spaces.
Does Bo know sewing?
"Well," says Sewell, "he doesn't know it yet, but I am going to con him into making a couple of pillows. It'll be fun.
"From what I hear, he's ready to go."
