| Song lyrics |
Mama, take this badge off of me
I can't use it anymore.
It's gettin' dark, too dark to see
I feel I'm knockin' on heaven's door.
Knock, knock, knockin' on heaven's door
Knock, knock, knockin' on heaven's door
Knock, knock, knockin' on heaven's door
Knock, knock, knockin' on heaven's door
Mama, put my guns in the ground
I can't shoot them anymore.
That long black cloud is comin' down
Feels like I'm knockin' on heaven's door.
Knock, knock, knockin' on heaven's door
Knock, knock, knockin' on heaven's door
Knock, knock, knockin' on heaven's door
Knock, knock, knockin' on heaven's door

Would you be even more impressed if you were to know that this song was written and composed in a merely 5 minute rounded effort? I shall confirm your stupidty and just nod your head up and down in concuring fashion... | 05-01-2005 16:58 natju | 209 posts

No, your wrong, actually; the fact that your fourteen DOES mean you don't know scrap. And you can't compare Bob Dylan's version to the Guns n' Roses one- it's totaly different. Like VicarInAtutu said, he wrote the song in five minutes. He didn't put much effort in it. It has awesone lyrics, but he sings like a bycicle.
Guns n' Roses took Bob's song and made it a Guns n' Roses song. That's what's so special about it. | 11-04-2006 08:36 Kajzing | 20 posts

I gotta say that I like both Bob Dylan's and GNR's versions (hell, even Jon Bon Jovi's accustic version). But NOTHING can compare to the original. I think it's sad that your fighting over a song...get a life people. | 09-10-2007 19:14 Thomsson | 14 posts

axl rose is never - not even in his greatest day as an artist - gonna beat bob dylan. ever, thats just a fact. I mean, I like gnr version too, in fact i listened to it before i heard the original, but cmon, Dylan's just Dylan and very few artists can ever compare to him. Maybe Jimi's Along the Watchtower version, but thats Hendrix... Im just saying a good but seriously overrated band like GnR cannot beat a god like Dylan. Nuff said about that.
I love this song. Whoever sings it. Even Avril Lavigne can kick some ass with this song but thats coz the song is brilliant. | 07-06-2009 07:03 GuitarBoner | 1 posts

The Gunners cover is good, so is Jon Bon Jovi's acoustic and Eric Clapton's(best cover), But you can't beat the original in this case. Bob Dylan is an amazing musician, he's a king. |
