| Brand New has changed my life... Not the music I'v elistened to, but my actual life. It's something I can't pinpoint, but it's like those who love and fully appreciate Brand New are in an exclusive club and everyone else is an outsider who doesn't get it. Jesse Lacey just reminds me of myself. Just watching and hearing him, it's like he's indirectly showing the world his every trait - good or bad. You cna just hear his caring or his melancholy in his songs. It's like I feel his feelings when I listen to his songs. Some songs literally depress me or brighten my day.
I think Lacey's lyric writing goes unmatched. every single song just has so many grea tlines. You can pull one-liners like crazy out of their albums. So much that it will make you think they intentionally wrote these lyrics to go on someone's MySpace.
Your Favorite Weapon is the greatest album I have ever heard. I used to prefer Deja Entendu, but after lsitening to every song of theirs probably a million times, I just got hooked on Your Favorite Weapon. I kid you not when i say that every single song on that album is a hit song. It's more uptempo. Sure, the instrumental play might be simple, but I don't care. It sounds great and the lyrics are even greater.
Deja Entendu is a lot slower and presents a more mature Brand New..I think the reason that Brand New is not fully appreciated by everyone is that you can't just go and download a few songs and form your opinion. You have to listen to every song to fully appreciate them. I just think that everything they do is so awesome.
The new leaked demos are killer as well. As expected, they don't play hardly any uptempo songs. I hope a lot of these get put on the new CD. It has an 80s sound to it, almost Depeche Mode or Duran Duranish on some occasions. Some songs about war too, I like it.

| Wow, words cannot explain how amazing Brand New is. The lyrics, the music and defiantly the emotions of their songs make people relate and understand.
When I first heard Sic Transit Gloria...Gloria Fades, I didn't know what to think of them, so I didn't think much. But back then I was stupid and now I have listened to Brand New and have become to love them. Their music is beautiful and the lyrics are amazing. | I'm not absolutely certain but I think it's referring to Souther Comfort with Amaertto (some kind of flavoring crap, tastes pretty good) and lime.

| The fall tour was rumored awhile ago and people laughed at it...
but both bands just confirmed it and sent out some dates too... Only west cooast dates though from October 10-20th with jack's mannequin. Both bands said more to be announced...

| im not going to retype all that's been said, im just letting it known that i agree whole-heartedly with FireWaterBurn up top. Brand New is my favorite band by far, Jesse Lacey is simply amazing. I dont see how he couldn't be considered one of the greatest song writers of his generation. anyone who is familer with all of Brand New's work is going to appriciate them so, so much more. when you listen to songs like Moshi Moshi and its clearly about high school bullshit we've all delt with you relate. Soco Ameretto Lime.. "i wanna stay eighteen forever." then they wait three years put out an entirely kick ass album that practically everyone instantly loved. even now with their new cd, The Devil and God are Raging Inside me this band has hit a whole other level. if you haven't checked em out.. do so. i've ranted enough, just give em their props.
