About(Brian Hughes 1955-present)

Brian Hughes is a Canadian Jazz guitarist, born in 1955 in Canada. He is best known on The Weather Channel for synthesizer Jazz Guitar music. He is also known for performing the 1992 Jazz Rap song "Here Comes Trouble (Too)" and also for performing instrumental Jazz songs including Straight To You, One 2 one, Shakin' not Stirred, Along The Way. He also worked with the singer Loreena McKennitt. He is influenced by Guitarist including Wes Montgomery, Bob Dylan, Eric Clapton and many other musicians.

(Childhood years)

Brian Hughes was born in Alberta Canada in 1955. He practiced playing the guitar while growing up. During his high school years, he got a job working in the record music store and his interest in music increased.

(College years)

Brian Hughes went to college at Grant MacEwan College (now MacEwan University) in Edmonton and the Banff School of Fine Arts. His teachers Ed Bickert and Gene Bertoncini helped him play the guitar better. In 1981 Brian Hughes moved to Los Angeles California to study music at the Guitar Institute with Pat Martino, Joe DiOrio and Robben Ford. Brian Hughes married his wife Pamela. Then in 1987 he moved back to Toronto, Canada. Then he moved back to Los Angeles California where he experienced the 1989 California earthquake but survived the disaster. In 1990 Brian Hughes helped the folk Celtic singer Loreena McKennitt with her music Career.

(Music Career Years 1990-present)

In 1990 Brain Hughes released his first Jazz CD album "Between Dusk...And Dreaming". Then in 1992 he released a CD album "Under One Sky" It was during the time when the 1992 Los Angeles riots happened and his son got into trouble with the law. That Brian Hughes wrote the rap song "Here Comes Trouble (Too) and Rick Lazar helped sing the rap song for his wayward son. Also Brian Hughes wrote the song "Thin Blue Line" as a tribute to the victims of the 1992 Los Angeles riots.

Later on in 1995 Brian Hughes started his own record company and produced a CD album "Straight To You", He also made the CD album "One 2 one" in 1998 and many of his songs would be played on The Weather Channel. Also Brian Hughes made the CD album "Shakin' Not Stirred" in 1999 and one of his songs was played on HBOs TV episode of "Sex and the city"

Then in 2003 he produced a CD album "Along The Way" about him going on Jazz tour concerts in Canada and North American an the songs are also played on The Weather Channel. In 2007 he produced an album called "Live!" and "No Reservations concert" DVD in 2009. In 2011 he produced an album called "Fast Train to a Quiet Place" in 2011.

Today Brian Hughes is still performing Jazz guitar music and is going on Jazz tour concerts across Canada and North America.
