AboutThis album was initially intended to be Spears' fifth studio album however it was shelved by Jive Records and the songs/supposed track-list were then leaked to the web.
The only known single for "Original Doll" that had been released was Mona Lisa [Original Version], which had a more darker tone than her previous work.
It was reported that on December 30, 2004, Spears made a surprise appearance at Los Angeles radio station KIIS-FM to premiere a rough mix of a new midtempo track, "Mona Lisa". Spears had recorded the song live with her band while on tour, and dedicated it to all the "legends and icons out there." The lyrics lament the fall of Mona Lisa, calling her "unforgettable" and "unpredictable," and cautions listeners not to have a "breakdown".
There have been theories that this song alluded to Spears' image, the hidden meanings behind herself being compared to "Mona Lisa" (the lady featured on Leonardo da Vinchi's iconic painting).
Some of the song's lyrics were then changed for the actual studio recording release that's on both the "Britney & Kevin: Chaotic" EP (2005) and later included on The Singles Collection [2009].
