It takes two countries to have a war, and to just blame america because they did or didn't do something is just wrong. That's not what the song is about. It's about an american soldier who faught in vietnam. It has nothing to do with be ashamed of America, the song is strictly about the soldier, watch VH1, I usually don' but they had the greatest 80's song countdown on.
