Buika - Biography
| last update : 14-08-2012 17:28 |
| Concha Buika was born in Palma de Mallorca ( Spain ), originally from Guinea, she started out singing in clubs and Casinos of the island. However she started taking music more seriously when she moved to Madrid. She also spent some time singing in a Casino in Las Vegas, doing impersonations of Tina Turner and The Supremes. Music did not happen in her life for some special reason. She did not have to do anything; it was always there. She is African and in Africa, art is seen as a necessity of life. She sings out of necessity, so as not to hate and she composes so that she doesn't go mad. Soul, flamenco, hip hop, jazz and copla. Concha is a singer who manages all kinds of rhythms. Buika is one of those few artists who waste voice, talent and energy while on stage. In her daring new second album, "Mi niña Lola", Buika presents us a repertoire where the "copla" reappears with more force that never. Classics as "Mi niña Lola", " Ojos Verdes " Mi Carmen" give us good proof of it. Produced by Javier Limón, this BUIKA's new album was launched under his own label "Casa Limón". "Mi Niña Lola " is a project to penetrate borders. BUIKA returns with a more personal album, with a brilliant sound and an exquisite production. 11 big songs that penetrate the forms and where she combines all these rhythms, which close to the surprising of her letters and the sensuality of her voice, make Buika one of the biggest artists. But do not compare Buika with anything, she is to be listened with the senses. |
