New album on July 11

23-06-2008 22:36 | 0 reaction(s) | add reaction | add news
At first scheduled for July 21, Carla Bruni's third album, Comme Si De Rien N'Etait, will be released on July 11, including the first single "L'Amoureuse".

Carla Bruni's new album release should have been on July 21 but it will be finally released 10 days before, on July 11 in Europe & in August in the world. Comme Si De Rien N'Etait is a reference to a photo taken by Carla's brother, Virginio Bruni-Tedeschi, dead in 2006, included in the booklet with other pictures taken by Jean-Baptiste Mondino.

The album, produced by Dominique Blanc-Francard (Sinclair's father), will include 10 new songs, written & composed by Carla. One of them is written by Michel Houellebecq ("La Possibilité D'Une Île"), another composed by Julien Clerc ("Déranger Les Pierres") & 2 covers will be included like Bob Dylan's "You Belong To Me" & an Italian song, "Vecchio E Il Bambino". The first single "L'Amoureuse" will be aired on radios soon. A contract has been signed with France Inter to promote the French First Lady's new album on airplay.

Another song on the album is "Ma Came", criticised by Colombian government, because the First Lady compared a drug, "Colombian white" & her country. "Ta Tienne" is about love & writing mistakes, "Péché D'Envie" was co-written by Raphaël Enthoven (her son's father), "Le Temps Perdu", "Salut Marin" dedicated to her brother, "Une Enfant" & "L'Antilope" will be the other songs from this studio album.

Carla Bruni's royalties will be given to charity, like Fondation de France.

The former model's first album, Quelqu'Un M'A Dit, released in 2002, sold 1.2 million copies in France & 800,000 abroad. The second, No Promises, released in 2007, with lyrics written by English poets, only sold 110,000 copies in France. That's the same case with French-speaking artists who record in English, Camille & Garou...

Also, for security reasons, Carla Bruni won't go on tour. "I don't want to change my job. It's a function, it's not a job. What will change is that I won't go on tour. My husband will still be President" she said.

Given the President's plan, the singer will wait until 2012, or 2017...
