Carla Bruni's comeback gets precise. The former First Lady is now signed to Universal. She joined the prestigious label Barclay, that has artists like Vanessa Paradis & Marc Lavoine. The magazine Challenges revealed this information. Last year, it also revealed that Carla Bruni should leave Patrick Zelnik's independent label Naïve. Her departure doesn't change anything for Naïve, because the label is in difficulty & it should take back Virgin Megastore. "Carla leaves Naïve in good terms" according to a close source, who told Challenges : "She considered that meeting Patrick Zelnik has been a fairytale, but like she did with fashion, she can also work with majors". Of course, Universal will opens doors to Carla Bruni, who has an international fame. She seduced some European countries with her debut album Quelqu'Un M'A Dit (2002), but her popularity increased after she had married Nicolas Sarkozy. By working with Universal, Carla dreams of new possibilities, the major being N°1. However, the agreements between Barclay & Carla Bruni remained confidential : "Both parts didn't reveal the amount, not the former First Lady's invests about her upcoming sales" the magazine said. This contract announces her fourth album Little French Songs, released in April. This is the follow-up of Comme Si De Rien N'Était, released in 2008. The album has been N°1 in France but it didn't equal the sales of Quelqu'Un M'A Dit, the former model's debut album that sold 2 million copies everywhere in the world & gave her a Victoire de la Musique for "Female Artist" in 2004. Little French Songs, the title of her album, "is a tribute to French lyricists" Bertrand de Labbey said to RTL. In September 2012, Carla Bruni appeared in Charles Aznavour's tribute "Hier Encore", aired on France 2. During the show, she covered "Vous Qui Passez Sans Me Voir". Some months before, an Italian cover of "Douce France" leaked on the Net, before being deleted. To know more about Carla Bruni, check carlabruni.com. chartsinfrance.net |
