4,646 posts	rhythm melody instruments lyrics vocal jeez...i just listened to Adam's Song for the first time today. i read the lyrics, and i was like "damn..this kids so much like me." do yourselves all a favour...live life to the full. bytheway.. the thing "i traced the cord back to the wall, no wonder it was never plugged in at all" it's a representation of the fact no-one could've helped the kid Adam. they tried calling, but it wouldn't ring, and he therefore couldn't answer. he was dead from the start. and Le Blinky has actually just changed their style, and become a lot better in my eyes, wth their latest albums. songs such as Feeling This, and I'm Lost Without You are a great credit to their brilliance. "i laughed the loudest, who'd have known.." - never act happy to make everyone assume you're fine. ask for help if you need it. i never could, and my friends asked me today if i was hooked on my painkilers. it scared me that i was so easily asked that question. i realised i was a wreck. oh well.

6 posts	Extremely sad song with LOTS of meaning in the words, i just lost by best friend from suicide last year and this song i can really relate to or at least try and make it relate to my friend. she was a great gurl and i miss her and this song helps me remember. THis song is fucken awsome and anyone who doesnt like it can get fucked il seriously rip their balls off.

1 posts	rhythm melody instruments lyrics vocal ok, as for the song being about a suicide, it actually is. in an interview with blink 182 they talked about a suicide note that was sent to mark in an email by a fan right before he killed himself. his name was "Adam". this song is a tribute to their fan. they also make reference to themselves because they were currently on tour when they wrote the song. they were feeling down and homesick. as to the tribute to the nirvana song "come as you are", that is also true. and finally to the part in the song where they sing,"traced the cord back to the wall, no wonder it was never plugged in at all. is reference to a time when Tom Delonge was in his garage and him and his amp were in a puddle. he could have been electrocuted. if you do not believe me go to yahoo, and type in "Adam's song suicide" it will be a link to songfacts.com.

Hurry up. The choice is yours. Dont be late." and marks lyrics are a reply to Cobain and sayin that he took the advice given. "I TOOK my time. I HURRIED up. The choice WAS mine, i didn't think enough." Blink is clearly not stealing lyrics, they are giving credit to Cobain. People need to recognize blink for their skills and quit trying to point out all the negative. Also, i dont see how any TRUE blink fan could say that blink sucks now and that everything all went downhill from this song/album. I mean have u people ever even listened entirely through the two albums that have been released since this one? How can u say that they suck after hearing songs such as "Anthem Pt. 2", "Stay Together for the Kids", and "Story of a Lonely Guy" on the TOYPAJ album, and songs like "Down", "Heres Your Letter", and "All of This" on their self-titled album? Blink has not gotten worse, in my opinion they have simply changed their style slightly on their new album which is not a bad thing. They still have powerful lyrics, stellar guitar riffs, and hellacious drum beats from Travis, who is hands down the best drummer in rock music ever. People really need to quit with all the criticism and recognize a good band when they hear it. Long Live Blink-182!!! Someone Reply to This!

You are so Right i get crap all the time for wearing blink shirts......people think they know all about Blink from one album or a song but before a person can really Judge anything or anyone they should know what they are talking about! Plus with a voice like Toms how could you not be original, i love his voice it doesnt sound like the voices you hear in stupid posser bands like Simple Plan I hate them! Blinks lyrics are not stolen at all! like you said they were anwsering not stealing....and also giving credit! People on the surface wouldnt understand thought... they would have to be a real fan.

Thanks to all u ppl who have been talkin about what the song means. i sorta knew what it ment before, but now i understand it better. I don't think that Blink has gotten worse cause their writing deeper stuff now. They've just changed. Just cause their music is a little different it dosen't mean they suck. Blink rocks and will always rock!
