vocal okay so this song is about getting rid of a drug addiction (mostly cocaine & herion) and starting new. (if you were a real red hot chili pepper fan you'd know that they all dealt with drug addictions..)
For example:

um, I am a real red hot chili peppers fan, and am quite aware of the drug problems that existed in the band, and while getting away from their past drug addictions is certainly a part of this song, the song is not about drugs specifically and certainly not only about coke. however, if you were a real rhcp fan, you would know that chad, though he enjoys his beer, has never gotten involved in the hardcore drugs the other three (john and anthony especially) did.
first of all, i'm sorry that i didn't properly state what i said. i didn't mean only drug addictions... it's just the most common one with that band. second, yes i am a real red hot chili pepper's fan and i do know that anthony and john both had trouble with drug addictions. i'm also a big fan of john's solo career. he also said the reason why he released his first cd was for drug money. i also consider the red hot chili peppers one of my biggest musical influences.

Luuuuv this song! And I luuuuv Anthony! 3 He have been help me through difficult and hard situations, actually whole RHCP have, but most Anthony. So fuck those who hate the Chilis. If it wouldnt for the Chilis I would have been dead for thirteen years ago. If I was forced to hurt the little toe of Anthony Kiedis, the deepest, wonderfulest, beautifulest, cutest, nicest, best person in the world, or kill myself, I would kill myself, cuz Anthony doesnt deserves to feel pain at all, and he ought to live forever. I cry everytime I hear him sing or talk, and the lyrics dont have to be sad or the melody dont have to be sad, I cry whatever. The Chilis are like my own teddy bears that I cant sleep without, cuz I cant make through a night without listen to the Chilis on my mp3. The twelve years that I was without them I felt very bad, then when I found RHCP I did also found myself in them. It's beautiful and amazing what a band can do to you just through a melody or lyrics or the voice of the incredibly beautiful singer. Oh my what I wish that Anthony or John or Flea or Chad could see what I write here. So that they understand what they mean to the fans. But perhaps they do? They must do, cuz Gods know everything, and they are the Gods. For me the beautiful songs "I could die for you" and "Funny face" represents my love to Anthony Kiedis. Forever a RHCP fan.
