| Oh My God!!!This song is amazing.The rythim,the drums at the beginnning,and I really like too,when Gerard says "MASOLEUM".The theme is soooo sad,but I like.This is one of the greatest song of all the time!!

I think this song is a slower, sadder continuation of Helena and it still talks about his grandmother indirectly.
I do believe it is about suicide because of "singing songs that make you slit your wrists...satring down a loaded gun" part. But it's at least about death in general...
And probably about infidelity because of the first verse. It's like the woman isn't liked by her husband so she goes to the cemetary where she hung out with her lover and marks her grave at 'their spot'.
The second verse is kinda like mentioning how the lover noticed/knew how suicidal she could be and how he was always there to comfort her, cry for her, 'die' (emotionally) for her, lie to keep her happy and how he tried to make her change her whole suicidal self. When he says "Did you get what you deserved?" It's like he's sort of angry at her for killing herself and he wants to know if she got what she wanted (It's also kinda like saying 'so you're in hell, and you deserve it.' Kinda like post-death anger synonymous to 'Why did you leave me?!'). And then when he asks "Is this what you always want me for?" it's like he's demanding to know if she only went to him because he comforted her and stuff.
The chorus part that goes "And the collision of your kiss that made it so hard" is like he's saying that it was hard for him to leave her because he couldn't forget the kisses, etcetera, despite the the fact that she was married and that she was suicidal.
The 'Way down' part is kinda like he's looking down at her in her grave and it seems so way down. (hehe)
If you noticed the last chorus is like "When will I miss you?" instead of "Well, I'll miss you". It's like the lover is saying that he didn't really have feelings for her. Maybe he just had a Jesus complex or something, who knows? Point is, he didn't really love her. Too bad.

Okay, yeah, I just want to vent about the whole 'Gerard is hot' comments. Yes, I completely agree with you that he's hot but please don't just focus on the frontman because a band is not a band without the rest of the musicians...In effect, do not post about gerard only but the song. But do not say you like MCR just because Gerard's hot because that completely degrades the value of their music. Really mean it. Thank you.
And to the person who wanted to know: MCR probably became famous because of MTV and the videos they made. When the majority get access to such things, it can't be helped that some of them become obsessed with the song (or the lead singer) and in effect think that they should love MCR as well. If they really mean it, go ahead, But I don't believe people who like MCR just because they want to be 'in' and because they want to be called "rockers" even though they're not.
This is the longest post I ever made, seriously. |

wow phoenix rocker lol u did write allot!!!! but very interestin with how u interpret this song, yes it is a beautiful song, and its the first song of MCR that actually made me a fan. i first heard of this song/band only about 4months ago believe it or not and since i heard this song i wanted to find the lyrics + all thier other songs and i hav really grown to their songs.
they all hav deep meaning without soundin boring and awsum beats and yeh i luv it all

| gothicgirl... Don't you know gerard used to be really depressed and stuff when he was yonger? he writes stuff like this because of the way he used to feel..
Um yea when I first heard this song I thought it was about breaking up then I thought of the suicide thing and that made it even sadder for me because if it was a break up you've still got a chance.. But death is forever and you can NEVER get the person back... |

Hm... Ok ok OK! What I thought about this
AMAZING ( ) Song was that maybe the
band was writing about Gerard's and Mikey's
Granny being suicidal
but defenitly this song talks about suicidal. And
then I thought about Gerard's and Mikey's
grandma still not being away because they've
made "Helena" in her honor. So...I also thought
about Gerard being depressed and just writing
his thoughts and feelings (just like
xcemeterydrivex had mention) But....I think
gothicgirl has the whole meaning to it. But
anyways I thought I would give my opinion and
YES! this song is awesome and depressing but
good. well anyways MCR you keep the good
work up and hope to see you around!
