Song lyrics
Imagine there's no heaven
It's easy if you try
No hell below us
Above us only sky
Imagine all the people
Living for today

Imagine there's no countries,
It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion too
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace

You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope some day you'll join us
And the world will be as one

Imagine no possessions
I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
A brotherhood of man
Imagine all the people
Sharing all the world

You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope some day you'll join us
And the world will live as one

This song is very melodic and really beautiful... AS LONG AS YOU DONT LISTEN TO THE WORDS!!! John Lennon was a communist, this song is the epitome of his views. Yea, I can imagine a world without religion, but its not the world I want to live in. I'll take God over John Lennon any day of the week. Sorry, John, but communism is a load of B.S. just like this song.

From what I know of communism I'm not really against it, but then again I don't know that much. I can admit that this song has some lyrics that I don't really agree with, but it's written in a way that makes it sound so beautiful.

MilkHouse you are mixing up Communist Russia with the ideas or actual politics of Communism.

Communism in its original form was first thought up by Karl Marx towars the end of the 19th century, it had many positive aspects to it, free education, free healthcare, equality of men and women, infact its been said that Marx was somewhat of a feminist.

Communism when put into actiopn dosent work, yes thats right, absolute power corrupts absoulutely. But one could make the same arguement about this so called democracy that we live in, in theory it sounds like a good idea, the state being run by the people for the people, but that only works if the people aren't morons, and when you have the media and the govenrment lying to you on a daily basis this is very unlikely to happen

So to Quote Timothy Leary " Think for yourself, Question Authority"

P.S This is an amazing song, with amazing lyrics, John Lennon may you rest in peace you genius you.

This is definately the best song ever. It has such meaning and is so powerful. And, your all right, John Lennon was a god. Imagine if he was still here. Would all this happen? He could have influenced the world even more had he been here longer. Lennon, you are great and we miss you. You won't be forgotten. Ever.

"Nothing to kill or die for
and no religion too". Think about that one!
If there would be no religion there would be much more peace! So TRASH THE RELIGION!

"Imagine", in my opinon, was the greatest song written in the last millenium. That is quiet an accomplishment when you think of all the great songs that were written during those 1,000 years. "Imagine" had it all. Great melody line and wonderful, meaningful lyrics. I don't believe that John Lennon was a god. And I doubt that he would relish that idea either. He was a human being that observed his world and processed what he saw through his own experiences. And he had the talent and the courage to communicate his beliefs and ideas through his music. The world is a different place because of John Lennon's music. How fortunate for us that he shared with us his talent. Thank you, Johnny.

P.S. WAR IS OVER, IT YOU WANT IT.
