I think John was a fairly good man, but he knew he had his flaws like any other one, i think this song reflects John's hopes that the world would indulge in the crap that comes from religion being forced on everyone, but still allows for you to worship your "god" even tho there is only one real God. I believe John is in hell, i hope i'm wrong as he is a hero to me, and i'm not judging him, i really hope i'm wrong, but we will need to wait to the judgement to see, i think John was a brilliant man, who suffered from the lack of love his parents didn't give him. i hope you are resting in peace John. amen

John was a great man, never was unkind or disrespectul and didn't deserve the bullet. I know this song really well and it reminds me of him anywhere, i play piano and i know how special this song is and how it really became famous
