You've gone through the shock, disbelief, anger and acceptance phases and are borderline out of depression and into recovery.
I like the way the words "not today" are used in the song. Throughout most of the song "not today" is used to show how she's strong and over the guy but about half way through, when talking about not shedding a tear, "not today" is used to show her vulnerability and that she's isn't fully over him. It's this reflection and touch of melancholy that gives the song its appeal to me.
