Somehow I am so depressed right now when I think of Green Day...it's probably coz they are so awesome- especially Billie- and I will in all likelihood never ever meet them, I might never even get to go to one of their concerts This whole album is so goddam depressing, but that's part of the reason why i love it so much.

Billie Joe is my hero, because he can play a guitar and sing at the same time, thats pretty hard, especially with some of the complex melodies in green day's songs. If anyone has ecer had to play guitar and sing completely alone at the same time, with no backup either way, you would know what i'm talking about. I've had to do that for my band, and it makes me appreciate the talent of Billie Joe all that much more. Is it just me or does it seem like Green Day has changed their music to a more emo setup? I like both types of music so either way...yay for green day <3 Billie Joe! ><

I love all of their work, and the fact they can keep impressing me after all these years, is freakin awesome. Now, they have some talent, they blow any other punk band outta the water. Oh and St. Jimmy is either a guy JOS (Jesus of Suburbia) meets or it becomes his new personality. I love this 'punk-rock opera' with a passion, its a great story. Rock on Green Day

273 posts	This song has a personal reference to BJ's dad, but that's not what the original meaning is... It's about Jesus of Suburbia being lost and alone...again. After whatshername (the only girl he ever truly loved) left him, he feels so alone and empty inside. Like being dead. And that's how the song was originally supposed to come across. But obviously, they couldn't just leave it at that... I think this song is sad, but I didn't cry when I heard it. But then I saw them back in November...when they played this, I started bawling my eyes out. Not like teeny-bopper-ish, but I just thought the song was so beautiful and the whole crowd was silent and everyone had their lighters and cell phones out. It was amazing.

I would like thsi song played at my funeral. Maybe planning ahead a little too far yet. I wish I had a guitar, I would so learn to play it just for the greenday songs.
