Where'd you go?
I miss you so
Seems like its been forever that you've been gone
She said somedays I feel like shit
Somedays I wanna quit and just be normal for a bit
I don't understand why you have to always be gone
I get along but your trips always feel so long
And I find myself trying to stay by the phone
'Cause your voice always helps me to not feel so alone
But I feel like an idiot, working my day around a call
And when I pick up I don't have much to say, so
I want you to know its a little fucked up that
I'm stuck here waiting, at times debatin
Telling you that I've had it with you and your career
Me and the rest of the family here singing
Where'd you go?
I miss you so
Seems like its been forever that you've been gone
Where'd you go?
I miss you so
Seems like its been forever that you've been gone
Please Come back home
You know, the place where you used to live
Used to barbeque with burgers and ribs
Used to have a little party every halloween
with candy by the pile but now
you only stop by every once in a while
Shit
I find myself just filling my time
With anything to keep the thought of you from my mind
I'm doing fine and I'm plannin' to keep it that way
You can call me if you find that you have something to say
And I'll tell you
I want you to know its a little fucked up that
I'm stuck here waiting, at times debating
Telling you that I've had it with you and your career
Me and the rest of the family here singing
Where'd you go?
I miss you so
Seems like its been forever that you've been gone
Where'd you go?
I miss you so
Seems like its been forever that you've been gone
Please Come back home
I want you to know its a little fucked up that
I'm stuck here waiting, no longer debatin'
Tired of sittin and hatin' and making these excuses
For why you're not around, and feeling sorta useless
It seems that one thing has been true all along
You don't really know what you've got till its gone
I guess I've had it with you and your career
When you come back I won't be here and you can sing it
Where'd you go?
I miss you so
Seems like its been forever that you've been gone
Where'd you go?
I miss you so
Seems like its been forever that you've been gone
Please Come back home
Please come back home
Please come back home
Please come back home
Please come back home

"uhuh, i did...
isn't it about the story of three families who deal with lonelyness, so that you can fill the song up in you own way sort of?
because one is about parents whose son went to Iraque and the other is about a girl whose boyfriend really is obsessed by a sport and the other i don't really get that one"
(About the video) I believe the couple have a son in the military, the woman has a husband who is in a baseball leage(?) and the young boy's father isn't around. The boy refers to 'having to be the man of the house.' So, I assume for reasons unknown, his father isn't around.
--------------------------------
I really enjoy this song. The first time I ever heard it was actually on VH1, when they had the video on. (Of course, it was 4 o'clock in the morning... Not exactly convenient.) I've since heard it played (VERY rarely) on the radio. There are very few songs that I can listen to over and over, but this is definately one of them.
I'll miss Linkin Park, but if Fort Minor's other songs are anything like this one, I think I can deal. | 25-05-2006 15:42 ICEBERGirl | 531 posts

| i like the song...but i i dont think the video fits the song very well
i think only the family with the kid who basically has to run the house cause his mom works and his dad just is away constanly fits the theme of the song better than the other 2
i like the sonfg but the military and baseball families dont seem to fall into the over theme of the song | 05-06-2006 16:30 XthecolorblueX6 | 32 posts

I didn't really want to get into this song. But evertime I hear it I get closer to liking this song. So I'm guessing I'm at the part where I'll listen to it, but I don't LOVE it. I guess I like it. This song has a message.. | 26-06-2006 19:32 prepsweetie | 21 posts

This is defenitely my favorite beat out right now, i usually don't like rap, or rap type beats, but this songs lyrics just hit me in the right place, at the right moment. And to be truthful, i had never heard of Fort Minor until i saw this video (and yes, cried, alot) and i didn't realize it was Mike from LP until the VMAs haha...
Back to this song, it's simple, but lyrically hard-hitting. My boyfriend is 3000 miles away because of his career, as a chef, and i really relate to the pain in this song, and that womans voice is haunting really.
just my humble opinion... | 02-10-2006 19:09 emoranger | 23 posts

MINUS THE UNECESSARY PROFANITY, I'D PROBABLY SAY THIS SONG IS GREAT(like it's played on the radio),HOWEVER, AS IT'S PRESENTED HERE,
NOW I THINK IT'S JUST OK.
THERE'S REALLY NO NEED FOR THE LOW-CLASS GUTTER-SLIME.
I DESPISE SOCIETAL "POLITICAL CORRECTNESS" BUT, IN SONG LYRICS -
WHAT'S SO WRONG WITH KEEPING A "PG" RATING? | 03-11-2006 08:48 LudMan | 1,093 posts
| P.S. SEE THERE WAS REALLY NO NEED TO "fuck up"THE shit 3X.
THAT'S MY BAROMETER TO DIFFERENTIATE BETWEEN GREAT AND JUST OK. |
