The first verse describes the routine he gives every girl. "Every line is about who I don't wanna write about anymore"--he doesn't wanna write about himself anymore. "It's so hard to have someone to love"--he simply can't handle being in a romantic relationship. "You can't keep a secret if it never was a secret to start at least pretend you didn't wanna get caught"--The "secret" is that the relationship won't work. The third verse describes how expertly decietful he--or whoever this song's about--is. I could be wrong though. Maybe that's just the kind of subject matter I'm inclined to look for.

I doubt Jesse Lacey is actually that cocky and stuck up in real life, these are lyrics, they do not necessarily reflect the person who is writing them. The cockiness is there to get a point across, which I think it does quite nicely. It's also hard to say exactly what the song is about, and for a while I thought that it was more hate towards Adam Lazzara of TBS, but now I'm really not sure. A couple of lines (ie. "this is the way you wish your voice sounds", etc) sound like they're directed towards Adam Lazzara, and at the same time some (ie. "you can't keep a secret if it never was a secret to start. At least pretend you didn't want to get caught") seem to be directed towards John Nolan, since they kind of seem to be hinting at the whole John-Nolan-screwing-his-girlfriend fiasco. But it's hard to say, really, and that's just my opinion and take on it, which is probably wrong. We all have our own interpretations. All I know is that it's a totally awesome song and I truly love it.
