Keep the noise low, She doesn’t want to blow it.
Shaking head to toe while your left hand does the show me around.
Quickens your heartbeat, It beats me straight into the ground.
You don’t recover from a night like this.
A victim, still lying in bed - completely motionless.
A hand moves in the dark to a zipper.
Hear a boy bracing tight against sheets barely whisper,
This is so messed up.
Upon arrival the guests had all stared,
Dripping wet and clearly depressed, he'd headed straight for the stairs.
No longer cool, but a boy in a stitch.
Unprepared for a life full of lies and failing relationships.
(Up the stairs, the station where the act becomes the art of growing up.)
He keeps his hands low,
He doesn't wanna blow it.
He's wet from head to toe, and his eyes give her the up and the down.
His stomach turns, and he thinks of throwing up.
But the body on the bed beckons forward, and he starts growing up.
The fever, the focus,
The reasons that I had to believe you weren't too hard to sell.
Die young and save yourself!
The tickle, the taste of...
It used to be the reason I breathe,
But now it's choking me up.
Die young and save yourself.
She hits the lights,
This doesn't seem quite fair.
Despite everything he learned from his friends, he doesn't feel so prepared.
She's breathing quiet and smooth,
He is gasping for air.
This is the first and last time, he says.
She fakes a smile, and presses her hips into his.
He keeps his hands pinned down at his sides.
He's holding back from telling her exactly what it really feels like.
He is the lamb, she is the slaughter.
She's moving way too fast, and all he wanted was to hold her.
Nothing that he tells her is really having an effect.
He whispers that he loves her, but she's probably only looking for...
(Up the stairs, the station where the act becomes the art of growing old.)
So much more than he could ever give,
A life free of lies and a meaningful relationship.
He keeps his hands pinned down at his sides,
He waits for it to end and for the aching in his gut to subside.
The fever, the focus,
The reason that I had to believe you weren't too hard to sell.
Die young and save yourself.
The tickle, the taste of,
It used to be the reason that I breathed,
But now it's choking me up.
Die young and save yourself.
Up the stairs, the station where the act becomes, the art of growing up.
The fever, the focus,
The reason that I had to believe you weren't too hard to sell.
Die young and save yourself.
The tickle, the taste of,
It used to be the reason that I breathed,
But now it's choking me up.
Die young and save yourself.

vocal Brand New church??? count me in!!! this song is great.. i just love it. yeah, they never write about girls taking advantage of guys.. about time someone wrote a song about it!! teeheehee best song ever. though you kinda feel bad for the poor boy.. but no one put a gun to his head o.o. that just proves that even if the girl is the one on control here, the guy will always have sex.. they just like it when you push them around a little bit LOL kidding n.nu

vocal loooove this song! heard it back in october (my cousin has like them forever), & i bought the cd the next day. the bass line is almost the coolest 1 i ever heard
this song kicks ass. i bought the album the day it came out cause i loved the old one (your favorite weapon) and i heard this song i was just like, its great. i made everyone download it and they all said it had no beat... then it got on the fucking radio and they loved it. i was like 'you guys all suck at life...' it sucks, nowadays for people to like a song, they need reassurance that its a likeable song from the media. its actually pathetic, and musics dying. oh well, this song kicks ass. i think brand new was just trying to show everyone that boys can care more about love than sex, and girls can care more about sex than love... i listened to the album the first time through, and then went back to lsiten to this song cause i fell in love with it!!!!!!

vocal Dude! Brand New is the most awesomest band-along with Thursday, Taking Back Sunday, Letter Kills, Rufio... I could just go on, but they are a kick ass band. This song is pretty cool too-even tho I didn't really get it the first couple times I heard it, but now that I've looked at the lyrics and played it over and over again, I finally get it! Brand New rawks!

vocal im not much of a fan of brand new or any "emo" "screamo" per say but this song is amazing and just has a great vibe and you cant deny its good
why should you care if they go mainstream? You should be happy for them for finally being sucessful. I like to see good music get the attention it deserves.
this song is gr8!!! i didnt like it wen i first heard it...but i play it all the time...too bad i didnt go to the first blink concert wen they came in march..this song would hav been madd live...o well...!!!
also i think its good at times if music goes mainstream..bcuz i live in Australia and we dont always get to hear the great bands that alot of americans do...n vice-versa...but if it becomes pop...then thats another question...

vocal This song is amazing. I like it when it says It used to be the reason I breathed but now its choking me up.
The lyrics are awesome. Brand New is just great. Do you know what it means when it says the guests had all stared?
When I first listened to Deja Entendu, I fell for this song (and many others) because of its lyrics along with its strong beat. I don't know much about music so concerning the lyrical content of the song...
At first I fell for this song because it made me feel less alone, and it defied gender stereotypes doing so. The issue here is not whether the song is about a guy being raped, or pressured, because essentially what is the difference? The legality does not matter as much as the lasting effect - that is, being sexually screwed up for the rest of your life (unprepared for a life full of lies and failing relationships).
Now I'm drawn to this song because I'm very close to someone this happened to... and the same day he told me, my friend was talking about this song, and we were discussing Dead Man Walking in Philosophy Class, and rape had been a really prevalent topic in my life the past week... and so that was a fun day.
hey umm just so u know "sic transit gloria" is part of the latin phrase "sic transit gloria mundi" which means "So the glory of this world passes away." and i know exactly wut the song means and what its talking about but wut i really wanna know is what the hell is goin on in the video?? i cant figure it out. its like theyre all puppets n he's controlling them except the shadowy figure at the end thats controlling him. i dunno...i cant figure it out. if anyone knows wuts goin on in the video u gotta tell me.
