| I saw a snippet of her singing this at a show so I looked it up because frankly, I scoffed at the idea of her being the "rock sister"...I figured if she really wanted to be taken seriously and be seen as a completely seperate enitiy from her sister, she wouldn't have her own show on right after Jessica's and she wouldn't keep going "I don't wanna be my sister!". But after I saw this I guess see she can pull it off after all.  I give her props.
Anyway, this song is pretty cool...It's just some fun dirtyrock, nothing to be taken seriously. About the whole role model thing, I'm not really sure Ashlee's aiming for a younger audience (Although having a show on MTV would prove otherwise), but even so I don't think enough credit is given to us teenagers-- Most of us know better than to base our lives on songs for crying out loud.  |

| Thank you all of you who have been carrying this conversation!!! I didn't think we would end up having a mini - debate, but it doesn't cause any harm so what the heck ^_^
Lala is percieved as however you think it is percieved. If you make it seem dirty, others will too, but it is catchy, wild, and everyone likes it!!! Even my MOM and GRANDMA like it!!!
Ashlee Simpson is not a child, she is 19, and therefore an adult, and can sing about anything she wants!!!
She IS a good rolemodel because, even though she sings of these things (if you percieve it that way), as far as we know, she doesn't go out and have sex. She has a boyfriend, she isn't in multiple relations, and she truly loves Ryan and has known him for a long time, as he had lived with the Simpsons for a year. That teaches young people that you should know the person and genuinly care about them. |
