[(From Demo Version Only) Spoken:
"A beautiful girl can make you dizzy, like you've been
drinking jack and coke all morning.
She can make you feel high, full of the single greatest commodity known to man:
promise; promise of a better day, promise of a greater hope, promise of a new tomorrow.
This particular aura can be found in the gaze of a beautiful girl:
in her smile, and in her soul, and the way she makes every
rotten little thing about life seem like it's gonna be ok.]
September never stays this cold where I come from,
And you know I’m not one for complaining,
But I love the way you'd roll excuses off the tip of your tongue,
As I slowly fall apart. (Slowly, quietly, slowly.)
Fall apart.
This won’t mean a thing come tomorrow,
And that’s exactly how I’ll make it seem,
Cause I'm still not sleeping,
Thinking I’ve crawled home from worse than this.
So please, please, (Please.)
I’m running out of sympathy, (I'm running out of sympathy.)
And I never said I’d take this,
I never said I'd take this lying down.
She says, come on come on, let’s just get this over with.
She says, come on come on, let’s just get this over with.
She says, come on come on, let’s just get this over with.
She says, come on, come on..
(I never said I’d take this lying down, let's just get this over with,
And I've crawled home from worse than this.)
You always come close but this never comes easy,
(I still know everything.)
You always come close but this never comes easy,
I still know everything.
You always come close but this never comes easy,
I still know everything.
You always come so close...
I still know everything, I still know everything.
I still know...
You always come close but this never comes easy.
You always come close but this never comes easy.
You always come...you come in close.
I never said I'd take this lying down,
I never said I'd take this lying down,
I never said I'd take this lying down,
But I've crawled home from worse than this.
If it's not keeping you up nights,
Then what’s the point?
Then what’s the point?
Then what’s the point?
Then what’s the point?
I'm in your room, now is this turning you on?
Am I turning you on?
I'm in your room, are you turned on?
(You're such a lady.)
I'm on the corner of your bed,
I'm thinking maybe, are you turned on?
Are you turned on?

vocal This definately is a good song, the thing about TBS is u have to be a fan of emo to even consider thinking them good, thats y half the ppl in my skool dont like them but i think theyre the best.
Right about the whole 'what this songs about' thing. MY OPINION is that tbs guys think it's about something, a fan thinks its about something different and another fan think it's about something different again. No ones right, no ones wrong. Can't we all just take what we want and need from it and then treat it as an awesome song?Just coz tbs wrote it about a certain thing doesn't mean that it's the only thing it can be about. I think tbs are a lot deeper and more complex than that. they'd want us to relate it to our experiences right? well thats wot me thinks anyway! Rite my fave lyrics are-
'As I slowly, quietly, slowly fall apart'
'she says c'mon c'mon lets just get this over with'(wen i saw them live, at that point adam put the mic to the crowd n it was like loadsa ppl shouting 'c'mon,c'mon) anyway yea it was cool.
'I'm on the corner of your bed are you turned on?' oh my god, melts me everytime, how could i not be turned on. anyone else just picture the guy they fancy on the corner of their bed? rarrr!
lmao, i don't like adams hair in this song, BUT have you people seen him in cut from the team? RARARAR!!! wooooooo, he's sooooo cute...
i love this song, but HECK i love every song, and just hearing him saying, 'are you turned' WOOOOO for chrissakes, who freaking wouldnt?

vocal okay first. . . yes, i am turned on. . . lmfao. . . second. . . . i think its about sex, but nobody cares, and third. . . i love the parts "As I slowly quietly slowly fall apart" and "She says c'mon c'mon lets just get htis over with" dude. . . incredably awesome. . . . . but again, nobody cares cuz every loves those parts. . .
i love taking back sunday and this is def. one of my favorite songs. the talking part i noticed is from a movie called "beautiful girls" starring matt dillion i think? its from the early - mid 90's. it's a real good movie and when i read the lyrics it instantly clicked cus i just watched the movie today. just wanted to share that
all i know is that this song could be about many many things, and if tbs saw this whole forum thing, they'd be like, what fools you all are: arguing over something you didnt' even write; BUT it's a known fact tbs loves their fans, soo yah know

vocal wow i love this song. who agrees that this album is 1323437 times better than the new one?? the new one kind of makes me want to puke in comparision
"So PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE I'm running out of SYM-PA-THY" is just the bestest part mixed with the "I never said I'd take this lying down"bit... so much energy... it's great
magnificentliar: holy shiat. where's your proof, love? i say the sex theory is MUCH more correct, sounding, but either way, unless someone got their information directly from taking back sunday, i'm sorry to say, you can't speak your word as truth as you wish to do.
laxitivechild12: the only good song...? are you inane? well, you must be considering you chose a username like that...?

vocal Alright listen up, this song is not about a girl faking orgasms. If you know TBS you know them and Brand New go way back. This is just a rivlery song. Along with "Seventy Times 7" by Brand New.

well anyways, the best part is the guitars and vocals during "She says 'comon, comon, lets just get this over with (I never said I'd take this lying down..)."

vocal Um, this song is probably about sex, and feelings.
Usually if your having sex, and you care about someone, it just makes everything deeper, you know?
Just a thought.
The song doesn't have to be about one thing.
But who knows?
