I LOVE this song, about how the Californian way (LA especially it seems - "buy me a star on the Boulevard, its Californication") seems to be taking over the world! All those mordern topics such as plastice surgery come into it too ("pay your surgeon very well to break the spell of aging")

cobain is ofcourse a refrence to kurt cobain, and "hear spheres singing" has been speculated to stand for the foo fighters( dave grohl was a member of nirvana, and formed to foo fighters, and the word foo fighters is a refrence to ufos in the airforce, and ufos sometimes look like spheres, and station to station is a refrence to davis bowie and alderon (alderaan) is a planet from starwars.
o yea about alderaan, in Star Wars episode 4, Han Solo says Alderaan is not that far away when in fact, it was blown up by the deathstar. it means people that come to hollywood hoping to find something but when they get there, wut they were looking for is gone
