| Song lyrics |
Honey, why you callin me so late?
It's kinda hard to talk right now
Honey, why you cryin'?
Is everything ok?
I gotta whisper cause I can't be too loud
Well my girl's in the next room
Sometimes I wish she was you
I guess we never really moved on
It's really good to hear your voice
Sayin' my name
It sounds so sweet
Comin' from the lips of an angel
Hearin' those words
It makes me weak
And I
Never want to say goodbye
But, girl you make it hard to be faithful
With the lips of an angel
It's funny that you're callin' me tonight
And yes I dreamt of you too
Does he know your talkin' to me?
Will it start a fight?
No, I don't think she has a clue
Well, my girl's in the next room
Sometimes I wish she was you
I guess we never really moved on
It's really good to hear your voice
Sayin' my name
It sounds so sweet
Comin' from the lips of an angel
Hearin' those words
It makes me weak
And I
Never want to say goodbye
But, girl you make it hard to be faithful
With the lips of an angel
It's really good to hear your voice
Sayin' my name it sounds so sweet
Comin' from the lips of an angel
Hearin' those words
It makes me weak
And I
Never want to say goodbye
But, girl you make it hard to be faithful
With the lips of an angel
Never want to say goodbye
But, girl you make it hard to be faithful
With the lips of an angel
Honey why you callin me so late?

I discovered this song not so long ago and I really like it, eventhough I don't think it's something really original, but then again, a lot of bands sound extremely alike. Anywayyy, good song. | 28-11-2006 22:28 kingofmyhead | 101 posts

My "friend" sent this song to me tonight. Hopefully one day we can be together. And to the chic that was busting on the "cheaters", Give me your hubbys email. I'm sure I could have him too. | 12-12-2006 17:54 Ruslafatan | 19 posts

Ok... here is the thing... this is a wonderful song but you all need to remember that regardless of the intent of the artist a song will be interpreted very differantly by each listener. Due to personal experience each of you will come away with a completly differant perspective! This is the joy of music, ones ability to let the art touch them in whatever way it will.
Now from personal experience in the matter this son is very emotional for me. I understand that those of you who have been cheated on will have a painful reaction to this song and I think that is good because it has still inspired some kind of emotion in you. The song also hold meaning for the cheater as well. (By the way: it is cheating for many people simply because of the emotion involved) This son breaks my heart because I WAS the cheater... I understand that it can make you feel closer to the one you are cheating with but for me it has a differant effect. Simply said, when I hear this song I remember the other woman that I loved but I also remember the pain it put my girlfriend through. The hurt in her eyes when she found me on the phone with the other woman was unbearable.
All in all I think this a great song! I also think that as with anything it is completly up for interpretation! | 15-12-2006 20:12 ChellyBrat92792 | 13 posts

This song is super sweet, it makes me think of my current boyfriend, and this kid that came up from Florida for the year, and the semi-phone tag that went on a couple weeks ago. =) It's really nice, I love this song, I'd say its one of the best love songs from the 2000's out there. | 16-12-2006 23:55 sama0rama | 1 posts

This guy has an AWESOME voice! He gives me chills!!! It's a good song when you first hear it, but then when you listen closely, it's kinda sad. But hey, that's life! | 17-12-2006 04:38 Amykins | 1 posts

ok. so I'm pretty sure that Divine Brown ripped this song off Hinder. so yeah actually I'm one hundred percent sure. since in their CD cover it says. Lyrics by Hinder for all the songs.
But other than that.
All you who hate the song, eff off, stop looking up the lyrics, and just stop dissing something that other people like. We don't go dissing your music so don't diss ours.
I agree that the radio is definitly killing the song.. it plays soo much. but i still love this song.
To all of you who have a problem with the message.. Yes it hurts when ur the girlfriend, and it hurts when you love someone else but you have a new partner, but you have to remember, that was your decision, and only you can control that. Obviously, he is not cheating. He is talking to someone he can't get over, even though he wants to. His way of getting over this "angel" of his, is to get a new girlfriend, that's his way of coping. so yeah.
anyways.
and i am the biggest hinder fan, trust me. so don't go thinking you are. I've had their CD since it came out in 2004. | 22-12-2006 15:30 catarata17 | 1 posts

This song is horrible. Yes, it's catchy. Yes, it has a good beat. Yes, the lead singer has a good voice. However, the message it's sending is completely unethical and unloving. I've never been cheated on, but I can still relate to the woman who he doesn't think has a clue. Talking on the phone to someone that you have a thing for while in a new relationship is CHEATING. For those of you who don't think it is, you might want to try growing up before getting into a relationship. You have no idea what love is, what it takes to have a real relationship, or to make it last. | 31-12-2006 15:32 Sennune | 26 posts

Well, since this is a very controversial song, I may aswell put in my two cents, or a nickle.
Technically if you look at it, he's not sneaking a phone call, he was the one that was called. I'm pretty sure everyone's come to a crossroads where someone broke up with you or you broke up with them, but never stopped caring or thinking of them. Even when you're with someone else, that one person is all you ever think about. You do everything to try to get that person out of your head, but even going to the ends of the world can't. Then when you're with someone else and the phone rings. You pick it up and its that one person you've been dreaming of, and your heart leaps hearing their voice. At some point I think if not everybody but almost all people get cheated on at one point in time. I'm in a situation right now, where if I got into a relationship with a girl and the one I really love called, I'd be incredibly happy. You can't find better, and all you see is the remanants of what could have, would have, and should have.
To me, it's a beautiful song expressing a time that I think most people have. You never intended on hurting the "girl in the next room", but what is hurting is that you don't have the one who called. Yes, he doesn't want his girl to hear him, because in my interpretation hearing this other girls voice puts him in his own world. Blocking everything else out, and doesn't want to be interupted for anything. Sure its rather low and superficial, but most things involving emotions/love are. To be realistic to me, those are selfish things. Not that I'm bashing them or trying to be a hypocrit. So I think this isn't a song that people should read so deeply into. To summerize my opinion, "It's about trying to get over someone, but that one person is still engraved on your mind, and all you want is to just forget or have it all back" | 02-01-2007 11:43 Lips_of_a_angel | 1 posts

It's great if you're the "ho" aka the "other woman" in a "relationship, but NO self-respecting woman has any business listening to this song. that guy's a pig. he needs to go die in a hole. | 21-01-2007 02:29 AliBunns | 8 posts
| and btw, if after you break up with someone you're still madly in love with them, you should at least wait a little while until your feelings die down and THEN go get another girlfriend. Otherwise, than she's only to help you get over the first one. Got it? Good. | 25-01-2007 18:09 xoxEmoLovexox | 5 posts

So, don't jump all over me for this, but i don't this song is that great. Its not by any means a bad song, regardless of any opinions you may have of the lyrics, the song is average.
I am a producer and engineer and I have owned my own recording studio for some time, and believe me when i say, there is something valuable in all music. i just feel that this song is a bit bland. It sounds like an average run of the mill bar-band somehow landed a really large production budget. Even in that "live" video, there was a great deal of processing that went into the audio after it was shot. His vocals were put in tune perfectly and the whole track was made to sound big. This is not to say that they are talentless, i do this sort of thing on a daily basis for people with more and less talent than the band in question.
I guess the point I am trying to make is that there is a whole world of music out there that far surpasses this song in originality and talent. People like Brooks Chambers, Bright Eyes, The Sawtooth Grin, and many more...
So branch out, go to an indie record store and buy something you've never heard of, step off the path of consumer music. it is something to be enjoyed and loved, and not to be sold to the blind masses. | 13-02-2007 16:22 ThePistol | 3 posts

Well, this was one of my favorite songs when I first bought the CD. This last spring I was "the girl on the phone" and felt that I could relate. Low and behold we started dating early July. I think it is a combination of why I have to turn this song off whenever I hear it now,
1. It's on at least once an hour on almost every radio station where I am and
2. Now that I'm in love I hate thinking that maybe he wishes he was with someone else.
Still, I won't say it's a bad song even if it blows a quick breeze of insecurity past me. It's beautiful when you're one of the people on the phone.
Not relating to my personal experiences, Hinder has to be one of today's best TRUE artists. They put so much heart and soul into each of their songs and it shows. They are chart toppers, and they well deserve it.
Way to go, Hinder. | 13-02-2007 22:24 AliBunns | 8 posts
