Song lyrics
Think about the love inside the strength of heart
Think about the heroes saving life in the dark
Climbing higher through the fire, time was running out
Never knowing you weren't going to be coming down alive
But you still came back for me
You were strong and you believed

Everything is gonna be alright
Everything is gonna be alright
Everything is gonna be alright
Be strong. Believe.
Be strong. Believe.

Think about the chance I never had to say
Thank you for giving up your life that day
Never fearing, only hearing voices calling out
Let it all go, the life that you know, just to bring them down alive
And you still came back for me
You were strong and you believed

Everything is gonna be alright
Everything is gonna be alright
Everything is gonna be alright
Be strong. Believe.

Everything is gonna be alright
Everything is gonna be alright
Everything is gonna be alright
Be strong. Believe.

(Again today, we take into our hearts and minds those who
perished on this site one year ago, and also those who came
to toil in the rubble to bring order out of chaos, to help us
make sense of our despair)

Wanna hold my wife when I get home
Wanna tell the kids they'll never know how much I love to see them smile
Wanna make a change right here right now
Wanna live a life like you somehow
Wanna make your sacrifice worthwhile

Everything is gonna be alright
Everything is gonna be alright
Everything is gonna be alright
Be strong. Believe.

Everything is gonna be alright
Everything is gonna be alright
Everything is gonna be alright
Be strong. Believe.

Think about the love inside the strength of heart
Think about the heroes saving life in the dark
Think about the chance I never had to say
Thank you for giving up your life that day

(The world will little note, nor long remember what we say
here, but it can never forget what they did here)

oh lord people, give it a rest..it's a SONG..everyone grieves for 9/11 in a different way, yes bad things happen all over the world and yes, they are all equally as terrible, but that doesn't mean that 9/11 was any less horrible just because things are happening all over the world. let them play their song if it helps them deal with the emotions caused by 9/11..as the daughter of a firefighter who died in a fire..i can't even believe you people are saying things like "accept it when it is your time to die"..do you think that my dad, 38 years old and with 2 young kids and a wife..do you think it was his time to die? didn't think so.

first, crazylildiva29, i am sorry for your loss. secondly, in the war of 1812, during the battle of the defense of fort mchenry, one thousand american soldiers fought, and four died. it was called a miracle. but was it a miracle for the families of the four soldiers who died? things happen. nobody has a "time to die". my fiance died in a car wreck in new york. i was driving drunk. she was my passenger. if it was anyone's "time", it was mine... not hers.
it was my fault. my debt to pay... she payed it.
but everything is going to be alright. be strong, believe.

um...yeh im not gona bitch about 9/11 and whatever, im just gona say that this song greatly affected me one night when i was really upset. i was driving late at night like a dickhead, i didnt care at the time if i were to crash and die and i just put the yellowcard album in the cd player and put it on track 11, cos its my fav number ..and for the first time i actually listened to the words and the whole song just totally made me realise my life is worth living. and that even if im unhappy, others around are happy just because i am alive. So... now when i get upset and faithless i crank this song! It really is a good song and changes the way you think. its amazing what music can do, thankyou so much YELLOWCARD

I cannot believe some of the things I've read. It's insanity. This is one of the most beautiful songs I've heard. Yes, it is about 9/11. But not in a bad way. This is Yellowcard's way of thanking all the firemen and policemen who did their duty in our time of need. How many of you can honestly say that you would have the courage to rush into a burning building that hundreds of people are trying to rush out of only to sacrifice yourself for a person whom you've never met. They'll never know you're name, they'll never even see your face behind the soot covered mask you where. I can say, there's probably not a lot of you who would do that.

My point is this: No matter what you're political party, you're view on the war, or even your nationality, this song is not some big political statement. It has no bearing in any other part of our lives. It simply says "Thank you" to all the firefighters and policemen and tells Americans and even everyone else in the world to believe that things will eventually get better.

I think this song is really well done. Anyone that thinks it shows how the song shows the affect 9/11 had on America is right. Anyone that thinks it shows it in a negative light is absolutely wrong. The song describes how, after 9/11 families were united in their dispair and how the attacks brought out the best in Americans.

This is the only song from ANY musician/artist/band that I've heard that is about the people that gave up their lives to save others. The other ones I've heard only say stuff like "we can get through it" or stuff like "I'm sorry"... I can't believe you people are saying some of the things I've read. My god. Have a heart people! "Never fearing, only hearing voices calling out. Never knowing you weren't going to be coming out alive." 343 NY firefighters alone lost their lives on 9/11. About 3,000 civilian lives were lost on that day, including the other two hits...But hundreds of thousands of people worked in those buildings. Think of how many lives were saved because of the people risking their lives. That's what they do. That's their job. Can you imagine just being in their shoes, going into a hundred-story building about to collapse, just to get someone you don't know, safely outside?! I mean...I think they are true heroes. And YC lets people know that with this song. No one else has done that...And "Believe" is a great way to say thanks...

CTOGZ how can you say that people actually deserved to die on September 11th? it was not these people's time to die, kids were left orphaned in a city of ruins. 343 firefighters gave up their lives saving countless lives and this means nothing to you. maybe because you are from the UK, im really not sure. But but yourself in our shoes, we witnessed first hand the devestation as we buried my aunt and uncle as we watched smoke come up from the Ground Zero from across the hudson river. Even now, we are still fighting this cause in Iraq, Afghanistan and all over the world. My mom is stationed in iraq right now, fighting for those people who died in 9/11 and freeing those who had a dictator as their leader. I am not trying to get attention by telling my story, cause mine is one of the better ones. But never say that people deserved to die, or that it was "their time" unless you witnessed it first hand.

nobody cares! it doesnt matter where you are from or what you believe, this is a great song about all that is good in this world. It shows just how heroic firefighters and all the other people who rish their lives for us are. not just in america but all over the world. this song is an inspiration to every1 in times of need and in times of great peril. weather you are depressed after losing someone or if you are sacrificing your life for a person you dont even know. it teaches us that we shood never give up and as long as we have hope we kan get throught. If you are suicidle you should listen to dis song, when i am depressed and taking drugs i just listen to this song and think of better times. this is possibly one of the best yc songs ever!!!!

This is one of the few songs that have made me cry. I wasnt directly affected by the 9/11 attack, (except for it ruining a birthday, but thats no biggie), but for some reason it really touched me, and has developed into one of my alltime favourite songs.

This is such a brilliant tribute song- people tend to focus more on the deaths of people already in the buildings, not thoes who rised their lives to save them. They're probably some of the bravest people ever, and this song must have really touched thoes of them that have heard it.

Wanna hold my wife when I get home
Wanna tell the kids they'll never know how much I love to see them smile
Wanna make a change right here right now
Wanna live a life like you somehow
Wanna make your sacrifice worthwhile

This song is totally awesome! some ppl might say its just a play to get money from a tragedy of 9/11, but YC's violinist was in one of the Twin Towers during 9/11, and a firefighter saved him but was killed.

[i]Think about the chance I never had to say
Thank you for giving up your life that day
Never fearing, only hearing voices calling out
Let it all go, the life that you know, just to bring them down alive
And you still came back for me
You were strong and you believed

This i think, gives the song an all new meaning. 20 thumbs up! and 50 stars!
