| There's a few threads that talk about it... it's pretty much up to the listener to decide that. In something I've read the singer says that it's about hope.. but alot of people think it's about suicide and stuff.. |

| I think we should just like the song for what it is. It is such a great song. Definetly a favorite of mine. They also did an acoustic version of Simple Man in a local radio station, that's great too!!! |

| This song is one of my favorites. I don't think it has to do with suicide. I think it has something to do with some guy whose life took the wrong turn and when he stares down the barrell of the 45 he starts thinking. It puts my baby's dad to mind. especially that one part. Here's a messege for the unborn child. My baby is due in Oct. and I never talked to the dog since Jan15th. This song brings him to mind. I think this song is just someone who opened their eyes after reaching rock bottom. |

| THIS SONG IS ONE OF THE BEST SONGS EVER.... yes it is sad but thats what mwkes it so awesome!!!!!!! The lead singer slams out these notes and its so powerful it practicallty brings me to tears.  |

| I saw them a couple months ago and they prefaced the song by saying "Don't listen to what anyone else says, this is a song about hope." If you read the lyrics and listen to it with that in mind, it makes sense.
Shinedown is an amazing band. To whoever asked, not all of their stuff sounds like this, this is one of the slowest of their songs, and not one of their best in my opinion...check out Better Version, it's amazing, but so is the whole album. |
