3 posts	rhythm melody instruments lyrics vocal When Blink broke up i was pretty pissed. I have posters and crap all in my den and bedroom. Then i heard that Tom was making a new band. I had high hopes that they would be better than blink, but they arent. Plain and simple. I know im probably the only person who thinks this, but Tom just isnt as good with out Mark Hoppuss' deeper voice to flow with him. Dont get me wrong, AVA kicks ass, but Blink was the Shit, while i AVA is just the toilet.

I loved their work very much and played covers of them with my band but I see Angels and airwaves as something completely different. You can't just compare blink and AVA cause there so different. My personal opinion is that ava is the shit as well! And that I've never seen anything so exciting as this in a long long time! I hope they get real big so I can see them here in Sweden one day

With Angels & Airwaves, I want to create a universe much deeper and complexe that what was never made. It is a very futuristic concept which, I hope, will be released in the movie theaters, but I don’t know which scale it will have. The idea is to assemble the visual epics with a DTS 5.1 sound. We would be the first group to do something of also ambitious. I can’t tell you more. You know, the universe of the rock'n'roll needs to reinvent yourself. It is necessary that the bands do something to advance the things, which they more invest in the visual one, which is a complement of the music. sooo yeahhhhh i cant wait...

The thing about Space/Progressive rock is the shadow of bands like Pink Floyd, Rush, or even a modern example, Tool (it's a bit of a stretch, but they're definately prog rock in my book). Delonge falls into the terrible rut of spitting phrases such as "this thing," and "this goal." Against popular belief (apparently), these lyrics are not metaphoric nor cryptic, but merely pretentious babblings that carry almost no meaning whatsoever. It was a decent stab, and I do like the song, but it is extremely overrated. I must say that Tom is in a new genre and a Blink 182 biased opinion is out of line. Because they suck. Terribly. I give Tom credit for trying something new, but that's about as far as I go.
