11 posts	I think this is hands down the best song on the album, but it gets over looked because it is also the last song. People always kinda shrug off the last one. This, i think, is in there top 7 songs total. it's lyrics can't be matched...the lyrics are amazing

44 posts	rhythm melody instruments lyrics vocal All i know about the meaning is that its called amsterdamn cause it was written there.....but it says on there website that they dont like to make the meanings of their lyrics to obvious, you more or less perceive them how you want too.... I love this song, it definatley is one of my faves on the album, i can relate to it sooo much specially the lines atthe end: "But you came along and you cut me loose" Cause it rerally relates to the way i feel bout someone i recently said goodbye too. I can relate the whole song too my life actually.....I think this a beautiful song, i think its probably my favourite on the album!

17 posts	rhythm melody instruments lyrics vocal anyone else LOVE how coldplay's music can have a universal meaning for everyone? well amsterdam does just that and that is why it's another favorite of mine. it could be about loneliness, hope, suicide maybe, and someone who loves you helping you out "you came along and you cut me loose..." not only that, but the music just moves you to the core ya know ?? but whatever it means, everyone can enjoy it... love ya coldplay.

The piano and lyrics are combined nicely before the other instruments are kicked in. 17 posts	so Listentocoldplay, do you think that it just has one perfect direct meaning or something? explain your comment. you used lyrics, but i can look at the archive for those. back up your response, tell me what you think, i'm interested. by the way anyone who thinks they know exactly what any song is about, shouldn't, unless of course, they are the artist of the song. i think that the beauty of music is that it has ambiguity. thats just meeee though .

The final lyrics starting from "Stuck on the end..." all the way to the end are so good. Whatever happened there he made a really good song about it. The only other songs that colplay that compare to this are Fix You and Swallowed in the Sea.
