I found some info on L. Ron Hubbard. for those who were just wondering
Noted and rather prolific science fiction author, founder of the Church of Scientology. Once remarked that the "fastest way to get rich is to start your own religion". Many joke that he took his own advice, though apparently that theory has been discredited.
Note that the Church of Scientology has proven its willingness to zealously pursue lawsuits against those critical of the organization. This is especially true in public forums, or anywhere their reputation could be (further) damaged.
Some of his non-fiction, at least, is internally consistent and coherent. It doesn't comply with many popular memes, but that's to be expected.
L. Ron Hubbard is more controversial than, for example, Isaac Asimov, so opinions tend to be strong. Ironically, this is not due to L. Ron's writing, but to Scientology and Scientology's practices. Most non-Scientology readers find his writing adequate for SciFi, but are far more critical of the religion. The exception is the book "Dianetics", which many argue is simply Scientology propaganda. While Scientology's litigiousness can be worrisome, they tend to go mostly after former members and those posting copyrighted materials. It would be nice to discuss the author without the Scientology inclusion, but that's not the reality we exist in.
I think this is quite possibly my fave tool song ever, and I have heard most of them! Real music for once! Its people who are fans of bands like tool who make the music scene keep spinning. Theyre so diverse... and just genius!

vocal there seems to be a little confusion as to the main message of this song, so i come to clarify. its not really about wanting the whole world to be damned, its more of a portrayal of his disgust for the city of Los Angeles [...hopeless fucking hole we call 'LA']. The city he once loved is now nothing but a bunch of zombies running around worrying about money, status, and power. He's actually predicting/hoping that California is going to break off of the united states and crash into the Pacific ocean, creating "Arizona Bay." the way he uses this so subtly is amazing! he catagorizes all of the people he sees in this forsaken city in the lines [fuck L. Ron Hubbard, fuck all his clones] to [fuck these disfuntional, insecure actresses]. before the end of the rest of the world, he wants to see it start wit california going first, because it is the center of immorality and in his opinion, the center of why the book of sin is being filled so rapidly. Aenima is the combination of 2 latin words: anima and enima. Enima means "cleansing", and anima means "medium for communicating with your soul". put them together, and you get the meaning of the song. read between the lines: hes not just stating "the world is shitty (being pessimistic), but gives us specific reasoning as to why this state is in such deep shit.
