 Charles Aznavour (real name Shahnour Varenagh Aznavourian) was born on May 22, 1924 in Paris, France. His parents were Armenian. He grew up in a restaurant, where his father was a singer & started to love music. In 1933, he joined a theatre school & played some roles in films. In 1941, he met a composer, Pierre Roche, they worked for Édith Piaf, who encouraged Charles to sing. His beginnings were not brilliant but the audience like him. In the late 50's, he got successful.
