Chris Cornell unleashes 'Scream' on spring tour

07-03-2009 22:23 | 1 reaction(s) | add reaction | add news
Former Soundgarden and Audioslave frontman Chris Cornell will hit the road this spring to drum up support for his forthcoming third solo album, which was produced by Timbaland.

The outing gets underway March 27 in Austin, TX, with Cornell hitting 17 cities on the trek, finishing things up April 18 in St. Paul, MN. Details are included below.

Originally scheduled for release in November, Cornell's third solo set, "Scream," is now set to surface March 10. The album, which follows 2007's "Carry On" and 1999's "Euphoria Morning," features production by Timbaland, who brought an R&B flavor to Cornell's typical hard-rock atmospherics, according to the singer.

"A lot of people were concerned about, like, am I gonna do what, for example, Timbaland tells me to do, if he wants to tell me to do something, that kind of thing," Cornell told The Pulse of Radio last fall. "We didn't really have that relationship, it wasn't that type of a process. It was more, he would bring in a beat, an idea, I would write to it and sing it, and we would move on kind of to the next thing."

Three songs from the forthcoming album--the title cut, "Ground Zero" and "Watch Out"--are currently available for download from both Amazon.com and the iTunes store. Fans can preview streaming samples of the tracks at Cornell's website.

Wow.....wonder what his CD is gonna sound like. EVERYONE and I mean EVERYONE is going to Timb for beats.

But yeah. Shall be interesting to hear. I'm not usually one to go buy an Audioslave record or anything but I would give it a listen!
