Christopher Joseph Isaak was born on June 26, 1956 in Stockton, CA. He attended Stag High School, Delta College & Pacific University. For a study exchange, Chris went to Japan & worked as a guide & also an amateur boxer (he got his nose broken). There, he discovered Elvis Presley's music. Back to the States, Chris & his older brother Nick started playing guitar & performed on stage. In 1980, beautiful Christopher got a Sears Silvertone guitar, went to San Francisco & founded the band Silvertone with James Calvin Wisley (guitar), Rowland Salley (bass) & Kenney Dale Johnson (drums). The band played in Californian bars.
In 1981, Chris was noticed by a producer, Erik Jacobsen. In 1983, he signed to Warner Bros. Records & released his first album Silvertone in 1985. The album sold 12,000 copies. The man continued with his second album Chris Isaak in 1987. The singer appeared on TV & his band got a Bay Area Music Award for "Best Band". In 1988, Chris appeared in the film "Married To The Mob" & got his second Bay Area Music Award. The following year, he released his third album, including the famous "Wicked Game". It was a success, Chris played before Tina Turner & appeared in other films. His album Forever Blue became platinum disc. Until 2000, nothing changed, Chris & his band got a lot of Bay Area Music Awards & appeared in TV series. In 2001, Chris was the lead actor of his own series "The Chris Isaak Show". |
