 30 years after his death, French artists pay tribute to Claude François with the album Claude François Autrement Dit, released in March. Adrienne Pauly, Jeanne Cherhal, Clarika, Elodie Frégé & Dominique Fidanza covered his songs.
On March 11, 1978, Claude François disappeared whereas "Alexandrie Alexandra" & "Magnolia Forever" were on top. Millions of French people were flabbergasted by that news. 30 years ago, the star died.
Years later, all has been said about Claude François. He wasn't Ferré, neither Brassens nor Gainsbourg, "cultural caution" artists, but he was a "popular singer". Today, the new generation sings his songs.
This year, many young French artists reunited to cover some Cloclo songs. Hits but also songs less known : "Miss Felicity Gray" by Elodie Frégé, "Je Te Demande Pardon" by Aldebert, "Une Petite Larme M'A Trahi" by Jeanne Cherhal & "Même Si Tu Revenais" by Adrienne Pauly.
15 artists, with older ones like Alain Chamfort & Elli Medeiros, sing Claude François in their own way.
