5 posts | rhythm melody instruments lyrics vocal I have to agree with seksay. I didn't think any album could come close to "Rush of Blood to the Head." Rush is still my favorite, and alway will be. But, X&Y is definitely a close second. This song, and this album is breathtaking. It took me a while to warm up to the whole album, but I fell head over heels in love with "X&Y" the first time. My heart dropped. This song is so obviously about his relationship with his wife. You can hear it not only in the WORDS he sings, but HOW he sings them. There's this honest, sincere feeling of fear and joy that makes you want to be "floating on a tidal wave." It's like a love lullaby. I want to be loved like that someday. |

I mean, some music make you wanna die, and some music make you wanna cry or scream, but coldplay makes you wanna live. It might not be very happy music, but it's real. I read somwhere that Chir Martin once explained that in maths and science every answer is X&Y but in real life nobody knows. |

Anyway, X&Y is one of my favourite songs from the new album. I bought the album the day it came out and like anything "new" it took me a little while to get used to, I didn't think anything could top 'A Rush of Blood to the Head', but this album comes very close  .
If people think that Coldplay is depressing and boring then I must lead a very depressing and boring life. X&Y has such a huge meaning for me, and I can relate to it immensely, as I can other Coldplay songs. There are times in life when I just need to step back, pop my Coldplay CD's in my car and go for a cruisy drive by myself to clear my head, it's almost like an escape.. I love it. I love Coldplay, they are my favourite band and I'm looking forward to seeing them in concert next year. |

2 posts | rhythm melody instruments lyrics vocal wow. as with every coldplay song this one delivers another emotional getaway. besides liking all thier songs anyway, this has to be my favoirte one. its so rhythmic you feel like you really could "drift into outer space" any one who looks at coldplay and thinks thier music is just slow and boring should really sit back and appreciate the sheer power their lyrics.  as for the song x&y, its good all around but i think the best is the bginning verses before the guitar starts. does anyone agree that they could make a whole song off that? oh well bye  |
