Coralie Clément (real name Coralie Biolay) is a French lyricist & singer, born on September 1, 1978 in Villefranche-sur-Saône, France. She is Benjamin Biolay's little sister. At 6, she started playing the violin. In the late 90's, Coralie listened to Benjamin playing his own compositions & asked him if she could sing them. She gave up studying history in Lyon III University & followed her brother's steps. In 2001, Coralie released her first album Salle Des Pas Perdus : most of the songs were written by Benjamin & Keren Ann co-wrote the title-track. The young singer had the style & the soft voice of Françoise Hardy or Astrud Gilberto. In 2003, she sang backing vocals on Nada Surf's "L'Aventurier", a cover of Indochine's song, produced by Benjamin. The following year, Coralie co-wrote songs with Nada Surf's Daniel Lorca & her second album Bye Bye Beauté came out in 2005. Toystore followed in 2008, including a duet with Étienne Daho.
