2 posts | rhythm melody instruments lyrics vocal this is one of my favourite ever songs. i've actually thought a lot about the meaning and what i can gather.. i think it's about a guy and a girl, maybe friends, who sleep together. the frist verse is the guy's side: i think the [lyrics=]dont hold yourself like that, you'll hurt your knees[/lyrics] refers to her begging him to be with her or maybe her praying for them to be together. for the guy, the relationship is totally physical and he doesn't have the emotional connection to the girl but she has feeling for him ([lyrics=]what i am to you is not real, what i am to you is not what you mean to me[/lyrics]) and then the second verse is the girl's side and she's asking him to take her seriously and not to flirt with other girls or act like she doesn't mean anything. i think maybe she's realizing that the way they see their relationship is totally different. and lastly, i think the [lyrics=]like a new disease[/lyrics] might be talking about how she's clinging to him? and the [lyrics=]she's still to young[/lyrics] is saying that she doesnt have the maturity to realize that getting physical doesn't always mean something's there emotionally. that's my interpretation anyway.. god this was such a long reaction.. |

As has been said, the mountains/sea-metaphore is amazing. I think I'll be quoting that for a long time. Also, the finishing "you do not need me" is perfect. He has an act for good endings, doesn't he? And the canon at the end always makes me walk with my head a little higher. |
