On the 8th May 1972, in Brisbane, Australia, a certain Darren Stanley Hayes was born to Robert and Judy Hayes.
Darren grew up and attended The Mabel Park Infants, then High, schools in Australia. Although Darren did well in his academic studies, his true love and passion was music.
It was no real surprise then when Darren first came to prominence when he broke through, mainstream, in his homeland of Australia in the mid 1990s, along with fellow friend and band member, Daniel Jones, as the vocalist of 'Savage Garden'.
The alternative type of funky and sentimental pop music Savage Garden produced set them apart from others in their generation and era. Songs such as: 'Truly, Madly, Deeply', 'To The Moon & Back' and 'I Knew I Loved You' were
just some songs which has helped to make Savage Garden world famous.
Darren Hayes and Daniel Jones, as Savage Garden, released two studio albums, 'Savage Garden' and 'Affirmation'.
The band sold over 20,000,000 albums worldwide during their few years with just the two albums.
In 2000, Savage Garden announced a split, and the end of a fruitful a few years of collaboration between the two friends. Darren Hayes set off on the road of solo fame and fortune, and in the same year released his self penned album, 'Spin'.
'Spin' was an innovative debut album from Darren. With it's undoubtedely familiar sounds that rings 'Savage Garden' and with Darren's own unique vocals and imagination, this album has helped to solidify Darren Hayes as one of the most talented solo pop artist of his generation.
'Insatiable', his debut single release from this album, stunned many critics of pop music, and at the same time gained himself thousands of new supporters to his already solid fanbase.
With a successful first album under his belt, on the 13th of September 2004, Darren released his second studio album, called 'The Tension And The Spark'.
Darren Hayes returned back in late 2005 with 'Truly Madly Completely', a greatest hits compilation of Savage Garden songs as well as two bonus Darren Hayes' songs.
One of which is aptly named, 'So Beautiful'... and with this and 'California', Darren Hayes is back and is simply churning out more quality pop tracks.
